Yeah, it's almost that time again.

Unlike most of you lucktards, you get a super long vacation. I'll spend my summer like I have for the past 5 years, working.

But in between here and there, I really don't have anything major planned. I'm going to Ozzfest and if the powers that be allow it, Gigantour. Other than that, nothing comes to mind. I really should set a goal or something. Maybe pay off my credit card that's been maxed out for the past few years. Yeah, like that's going to happen.

So, what are your summer plans?

Well, it's the first day of Winter tomorrow, but I'll give you my Winter plans anyways.

About the first month of it I plan to recover from illness/surgery Then I plan to work. I don't think there is much on that I want to go to, music festivals and things are usually a summer thing, but I might look up the gig guide and see what's on.

I'm probably going to watch a lot of TV.

My parents are divorcing. Being in my household is not pleasant. This summer we're moving to some cramped condo because my mom's not the one who really supported this family. It wouldn't be so hard, but we have a pitbull (yes, the breed makes a difference), so we can't just pick a cheap apartment.
It makes me sad that my brother won't grow up here after all, like originally planned. Elementary, middle, and high schools here are all walking distance, and they're probably the best in the district.

Oh, God. I'm so sorry YD.

I'm going to be knocking up Belgium for two weeks during the summer (Ziff has his connections) and then kicking around my house naked for two weeks.

I'll be getting a job, I know that for sure. I just turned 16, so this will be my first. I'm looking around right now, scoping out where a good first job would be. I'm not looking forward to it, but I need a car. And to have a car, I need money. Babysitting a few times a month won't cut it anymore. =(
I'll also be going to Mexico for vacation with my mom, brothers, sister, and nephews. I'm pretty sure we'll be in Cancun, and I've never been.
I'll also be going upstate to the San Francisco area this summer for the first time, I'm going to visit Ashley! I'm looking forward to it.

My main plan is Otakon, which is just under three months away and involves finishing up the costumes I've been steadily working on for the past year (yes, you read that right): Xiahou Dun for Rando, Zhang He for myself. I've put at least 200 hours into this project thus far (and you people wonder why I never get on IRC any more ) because I've been as anal-retentive about material choice and craftsmanship as possible. Yiffy Kitten doesn't think I'm girly enough to portray who is arguably the most effeminate guy in the entire Dynasty Warriors series, but I'm up for the task, believe me.

Other than that, I'm still working on my lifting (although that's really an ongoing project). I finally hit a 200-pound deadlift. That's 133% of my bodyweight. w00t. I'm also looking for another job. I'll be interviewing for one at Penn State in a few weeks, and I very much hope that I get it because PSU pays well and gives a total of seven weeks off per year (yes, you read that right as well) including two weeks off around Christmas and New Year's. Regardless, I'm leaving in the beginning of September because I'm not making enough money to justify the aggravation of getting paid 60% of what I'm worth and getting Jack and Shit for time off. Rando approves (hell, he's been suggesting that I leave for quite a while now). If I don't have another job lined up then, I'll pursue my crafting while continuing to look. There's a nearby community theater that's always looking for volunteers, and I'm sure I could get tons of great sewing experience helping out.

Eeep. 3 whole months of summer to go. How time flies...

So yeah. I need a job to pay for university and to help me buy a ton of things barring a miracle lottery win. In which case I stay up alllll night and play games.

Summer begins for me on Friday, when I come home from university. I'm going to see this guy back home who's holding a vacancy open on Saturdays at the same store I work for up here, just the branch back home. So that leaves me with six days of nothing-to-do until I can get some more hours or a placement.

In June I'm going to see Rammstein for the third time, and the second time this year >=D In between then I'm seeing Chad on her days off and doing shitloads of housework.

Inbetween all that, I'm planning on doing some coding. I've got Acmlmboard development to keep me busy, maybe even a prototype board of my own... Also, I'm thinking of writing a small RPG demo in Python. I've already made a ski free game with a yeti that eats you, so I'm thinking of creating a small demo with an overworld, a few villages and towns and stuff

Well, graduation is in two weeks but for now I really don't have anything to do. Really, i'm already free from school.

- Try to start drawing stuff, being intrested in years but hadn't the time. (now if I had a scanner so i could receive constructive critism...)
- Learn C++
- See if I can do anything useful with KenBuild
- Maybe even install Linux on two other computers...
- See if I could continue with my hacking project
- Lose weight (which i'm already doing, but I need to lose more...)

The top one is actually top priotery, but the rest is no order.

Oh, that reminds me, Kitten Yiffer, I've got the Ubuntu iso downloaded and ready to burn When I cart all my stuff home I'll have my desktop, my laptop, and my dad's old desktops in my room I'm going to play around with my dad's old desktop and see if I can set it up as an MP3 server.

What would be really nice is if I could get a tiny 14" touchscreen TFT so I could hide the PC and the keyboard and mouse, and control my winamp playlist by a touchscreen next to my hi-fi

...now you remind me that I need to try Ubuntu. Currently i'm using Slackware (as I got tired on Fedora Core's bloatness) but it's being installed on a very old computer which I can't do very much stuff on. I ran out of HD space...

The thing i'm planning to do is replacing Windows 2000 on the computer in my room with Slackware and then get a apache server running. Currently it's using Apache for Windows running, but I heard it runs alot faster in Linux.

And yes, I can use Linux just as if it would be Windows almost. Sometimes I get stuck on a problem, but google solves it 90% of the time. If that dosen't help, I just ask a friend of mine.

I probably try Ubuntu in VMware or something...

Work for the most part (ever since 1996, actually) and I'll be working a bit more on the wedding plans.

Besides that, just the usual shit, going out whenever I have spare cash and whenever my friends are off along with myself.

My summer plans

-get a job
-hang with manda since she moved somewhat near me. I bet you're all jealous.
-Otakon. which will only happen if i get a job. I'm thinking of cosplaying as either someone from megaman, or Zengar Zormbolt from SRW just so i can run around with a plastic sword screaming at the top of my lungs "I AM THE SWORD THAT CLEAVES EVIL!"
