Can some one help me with disableing marios extra flying abiltys?
Im working on a hack and i want mario to be able to fly, but not do his extra flying ability, the one where you press backwards and he gains flight and stays in the air.
I would like to get rid of that part of his flying ability.

Yeah, i know i put the wrong name for this thread, i should have put help with marios flying ability.

It would take knowing the asm address, and I can't think of someone with the knowledge, and time to look for the code. If you still want to do that use snes9x, or learn asm.

The reason i ask, is because someone already did this in a hack once befor, it was for a mario 3 type of hack of mario world, in which his extra flying abilitys were taken out to make it more like mario 3.

Im working on a hack that dose not have mario as the main charecter, and it is hard to make the proper graphics for his extra flying abilitys, so i thought that their was some way to take it out, that would not be very hard.

Also, flying is a cool abilty, but being able to just stay in the air like that makes it way too easy to pass up an entire level.

I guess their will not be any flying at all in my hack.

Maybe you can edit it so instead of removing it, it would just not make you go higher. Of course you would have to edit the tiles.

How the hell would editing the tiles help?

Anyway, mikeyk used ASM to do what he did. However, if you're just going to do that, you probably wouldn't need ASM... But eh, I can't tell you what to change.

If you know of it being in a hack, then ask the person who made the hack, and you never know, they might help you out.
