The Tarale says...
If you ask me, prescription drugs for mental illnesses are more dangerous and fucked up than me having a little bit of a drink

It is my personal belief that the vast majority of drugs used to treat mental illness do far greater harm than good. And I say this from very personal experiences. The idea that you can put a chemical in your body that makes you happy is, to me, ludicrious at best and utter madness at worst. But I suppose my opinion not have as much credibility when you consider the fact that I regard all psychologists and psychiatrists as charlatans. I'd say your assumption is right. The worst that will happen from alcohol consumption is a few dead brain cells and possible liver problem, and those take years of daily abuse to develop. The effects of psychiatric drugs can be instantaneous and sometimes dire.

Well, there is alot of people who is addicted to things without being aware of it. I recently realised that I was little addicted to coke. And lookin on Tarale's case, she can't be alcoholic. My classmates drink much more than that in average (or I just live in a area where everyone is crazy in beer but not me ). And I don't see a problem to take a drink if it makes feel better, as long it wouldn't make anything worse. (I doubt alcohol would make the cyst worse after all, and if it would be... well then it's the doctors fault to not mention that.)

Looking on the case, with a rational thought it's going through fine. Your ex must prove that you did agree on that and this, and unless you signed under stuff I doubt he can. So from a legal standpoint it will go through fine, trust me. (...at least if Australia have similar laws as in Sweden. :/) But if you could get him to pay it or something personally it would be fine, but not everyone have $25,238.18 lying around (Australian dollars I assume?). And i'm not surprsied if he is in the red too...

And oh, on the matter of psychiatric drugs. It depends really. I can understand that people with ADHD need drugs to calm down (I actually know some people who take medication, which are still hyperactive for some reason thought.) But giving out drugs for depressions that usually can be solved through therapy? Sometimes it's like I wonder if the psychiatists is sponsored by someone, I wouldn't consider drugs to be a permament solution on depressions. If I find solutions on my own depressions, then a expert should be able to solve most other depressions... (thought, my depressions aren't deep or longlived and only disturbs my sleep...)

And Kasumi Skywalker is right, games does help. Althought only temponary, as soon you stop playing... still it's better than wandering around as a lifeless zombie (which I did last week, don't ask... ).

Sorry for that incoherent post that probably confuses you way more than helping. And I was probably just pointing out the obvious. :/

My real issue with antidepressants is that I don't think they really promoted recovery. Sure, the sadness was deadened, significantly.... but I lost the other end of the spectrum too and couldn't feel happiness either. I just sat somewhere in a melancholy middle.

Well, went to the doc's today, and will get a letter to give to the lawyers and stuff.

I am going to be having surgery. As the cyst is too big, I cannot have keyhole surgery. I will go into hospital and be there for four or five days to recover. Apparently there is a very high chance that I will lose my right ovary, and apparently there is also a chance that this is cancer.

Of course, right at the moment the surgery stuff isn't scaring me as much as it did last week. I'm still scared of the bankruptcy stuff.

Any cyst has the potential to be cancerous. I don't think the odds are against Taryn or *anyone* else, but the possibility is there. I think (and hope of course) that the cyst is the only problem, and hopefully the operation goes swimmingly so that Taryn can take a much-deserved breather.

Yeah, I'm going in as a public patient to Noarlunga Public Hospital. Which is...... lucky, as I don't have private insurance...

Move to America and find out?

That's my biggest peeve, the supposed "Most advanced" nation in the world doesn't even have public healthcare!

It's good that your surgery is being taken care of. The last thing you need, being $25k in debt, is a $25+k hospital bill!

Well, US really needs more socialistic politics so they at least get public healthcare. We almost only have public healthcare around here, and it's very good too. People get bankrupt in US becuse they don't have the necessary insurance...

You never said if it was 25K US DOLLAR or Australia dollar. I assume you converted it already, but I never know. There is a big diffrence between thoose two.

National Health Care...that is currently not on the agenda of anyone right now in the government so who knows when this will be implemented

anyways, the sooner that cyst disappears, the better you'll be. I'll pray for procedure and recovery without problems.

Not a huge difference really... the Aussie dollar gets about 75 US cents currently so if that's Aussie dollars it's about 19 K US at present market rates. Or about 142000 Krona if you prefer. Still very sizable.
