is there an offset i can change to make it so that Dino Torch (the small guy, not Dino Rhino) only shoots horizontal flames, and not vertical flames? PS, by default he shoots both horizontally and vertically, depending on his position relative to Mario.

Er... That's not possible without making Mario walk under the entire level.

My best guess would be to use geiger's debugger, then NoP out the vertical flame subroutine / code segment.
