The first question seems quite easy but the second im not entirely sure. They are both based on a Metal Gear Solid game I'm making

1) How do I make it so if you are coiding with a wall, walking your character against the wall it press up against the wall so you can sidle across it?

2) How advanced can 3d objects be on GameMaker, and how do you make 3d objects that advanced?

You mean when your character presses up at an angle it slides a tad?
1.) You would have to set the friction to around 0.2 to about 0.8 and change the behavior if it interacts with the wall by making it bounce. That should get you somewhere.

2.) You can make simplistic pyramids, cylinders, ellipses, and boxes but I don't think it allows you to make anything irregular. You can make something odd by messing with the vertex positions in the scripts but you won't get anything pretty. It's best to use an advanced 3d game making tool or DarkBasic. If I had some way of using massive bandwidth, I'd be more than happy to send you a full version of DB. However, you can get a trial version at: http://www.darkbasic.com. Then visit http://www.mscracks.com to get the validation code.
