Koopa was lost inside a forest. While wandering around, he finds 2 goombas that are exactly identical, standing at the beginning of 2 paths.
One leads out, but one leads into a cave, where Barney the giant wiggler lives and will devour him.

Both of the goombas know the correct way to go.
You can ask only 1 goomba a question, but only 1 question, and only yes/no Qs.
But, while one goomba will tell you the truth, the other will tell you a lie.
(Q: Are you a goomba?)
(Truth: Yes)
(Lie:No)

So the question is: what does Koopa have to ask the goombas in order to know the way out?

Except:
+ Exactly identical means that you can't tell which goomba is the truth goomba.
+ Yes / No Qs are only answered with yes / no. There is no other information to the answer.
+ And, only answered with yes or no means you can't make them an enanswerable question.
example:
"If you are the lieing guy, then is path 2 the wrong way?"
Truth guy can't answer.
+ Don't post"Guess which way to go" or "I don't care".
+ It's not always neccesary to know who is the lieer...

I hope this was not posted before...
I'll delete it if I find an identical one.
Have fun!

(EDIT)
+ I changed Yoshi to Koopa.
+ The question was not clear.

I am very sorry for this!
I forgot to say "only one".

I'll ask Goomba A if the he is a Goomba. If he says no then he is the lying Goomba. Otherwise, he is the truth Goomba.

I'll then ask Goomba B whether or not the left way is the correct way. If he is the lying Goomba, I will go the opposite way he suggests. If he is the truth Goomba I'll follow the path he suggests.

Also, this whole thread is pointless because Yoshi can eat wigglers.

It's not a pointless thread. You can figure out the path by asking only 1 question.
And, you can only ask 1 question.

Theres some sort of trick to this..
in truth the goombas can controll
which path is the one leading to death...
and whatever one you say you choose
will be leading to the death, so you ask "
is that path the safe path?"
then they answer ( one will say yes and the other no)
Then you go down the path that you didnt choose...
There for you are now safe!

All you ask them is "What path would the other goomba say?". The truth goomba will say "He would say he shows the real path" and the lying goomba would say "He would say I show the real path".

The lying goomba has to say this because in reality the truth goomba would say his own path, but because the lying goomba has to lie he has to say the truth one would say the lying ones path is correct because he has to lie. The truth one says what he says because he knows the lying one would say his own path, and has to tell the truth that the lying goomba would say his own path. So whichever goomba says "He would say he shows the real path" is the truth goomba, so follow his path

Thanks for answering -
but I'm very sorry for this!
The question was wrong..
You can only ask 1goomba.

And,
Only 1 question,
and it has to be answered with only
yes or no,
and you can't tell them apart.
When I say that, I mean you have to ask a question that both of them will answer the same way.

Only answered with yes or no means you can't make them an enanswerable question.

Example:
(To Truth):"If you are the lieing goomba, then is path 1 the correct way?"
Goomba: "..."Since I made things confusing, I'll give you a hint:

It's not nessecary to know if the

Sorry, and please, forgive me and have fun again

--------- + ----------- + ----------
RYjet911, you're kind of close...
But that's not a yes/no Question...

Point to a path and ask, "if I asked the other Goomba which path would lead safely out of the forest, would he say this path?" If the answer is no, take the path you are pointing at. If it is yes, take the other path.
