how can i stop colour 6,4 from cycling/flashing in a normal level, and how can i replace it with a colour of my choice? PS- i know BMF kind of explained this before, but what he said to do didn't work.

I'm pretty sure that BMF's modification only takes effect during the End of Level fadeout... I haven't tested it, though.

I'm only going to say what BMF said:

Change these ROM addresses:

$262C: EA EA EA
$2632: EA EA EA

Keep in mind that this also disables the cycling colors on overworld objects. Also, you don't need to apply BMF's coin fade patch when doing this.

Have you tested your ROM, peter_ac? Even when you disable the cycling, it is not disabled in Lunar Magic.

Why would it matter where he got the information from???

If he gets it from Ice Board, then he could put

~borrowed from Ice Board (linked) after the info.

We are all friends here (well most of us), and it shouldn't matter where info is gotten from as long as the founder is credited (like what BigMattrizzle did with what BMF posted).

Sorry I can't help you tho peter.

RR, i told you to stay away from me! nobody wants to hear your bitching so don't bring problems from your board here you pathetic little child. anyway, the colour won't change when i paste another colour over 6,4. It keeps flashing and it's still orange in the game.

Oh! I just thought of something. Would forcing a custom palette animation over it work? Just make the animation cycle thru the colors that you want to use? May work, may not...Iknow that the yellow/orange color is hardcoded so.....

Well, to edit the palette, you could use SNESpal. That program can search up any palette in a SNES rom and edit it. If you look for one color of the flashing palettes, you should easily find the rest right there.

Let's keep the drama out of the SMW Hacking forum, kthx.

Pete: Please don't presume to order someone out of a thread. If you don't want to interact with someone, simply don't. But as long as he isn't breaking rules, he can post in whatever thread he wants.

RR: Anything that happened on another board has no place in a discussion here. Heck, any dispute you may have with a user here on Acmlm's doesn't belong in this forum. Keep it in a more appropriate location or even PMs. Also, if you have nothing constructive to add to a discussion, don't. Fluff your post count somewhere else.

Back on topic, then.

As far as I know, Lunar Magic's ExAnimation option cannot override those colors (someone correct me if I'm wrong, please), which kinda sucks because I'd like to use that palette sometimes but don't feel like working around the limitations. You'll have to use BMF's fix, make your own, or wait for someone else to come along and stick it into a utility.

AFAIK there must be one or more addresses to change the color to the color of your choice, because hardcoded colors can't be edited with LM, only with hex editors.

So does that mean that 6,4 can't change with a level's custom palette? i mean, can 6,4 have two different colours in two different levels, or does it keep the same colour throughout the whole game?

Sure, if you find the offset where to change the color.

This is likely a rather primitive solution, but why not use extended animation? Pick the pallette color of your choice and make all the frames for the animation using the same color.
