My only rant is that it has plugin problems at ytmnd.com and for some reason layouts screw up and post numbers don't like to show up at Acmlm's board.

The reason I pulled back my old layout was because of Firefox, and I'm too lazy to work around it to make it work here. xD

You know, Legion, that only happens if the connection is terminated somewhere down the line. Either your Internet connection sucks or the Web server sucks. I rarely see those messages.

I'm pretty sure that IS a connection thing I used to get it when I was on the ex's dodgy internet. Or NOT on the ex's dodgy internet. Stupid dodgy internet.

I haven't had it once since switching internet providers

It can't be, either that or it's Firefox itself messing up my connection. Either way...

See, when I get that message I'll immedietly open the same page in IE using that one plugin, test out the hyperlink and it will be fine. Just to make sure, I'll go back to Firefox right after that and whammo, same message.

That only happens to me when I bog the connection down with lots of requests up and down. Usually downloading files causes it too. Then again, you should check your version. I haven't had that problem in a while since I know how to prevent it.

Does "This document contains no data." pop up in a window or appears on page? Becuse if you blocked something through hosts, such as adservers you get that message.

And yes, you can make it not appear in that way by changing settings in about:config. Let me check where when I get home.

It could be some extension causing it too, I never heard any problems like that.

My rant is more like this:
*double clicks Firefox*
*waits*
*waits*
*waits*
*waits*
*double clicks it again*
*and again*
*opens task manager*
*kills lots of Firefox.exe process*

Then you go back to line 2 until it works.

This could happen to any program *shock* (infact, it was doing this to IE, when I was still using it. The reason I switched to Firefox).

As for "Document contains no data", it happened to me, like, once.

I remember reading that they plan on replacing the "Document contains no data", and other error messages with actual HTML error pages.

Ralphy Boy: I don't think GD is installed on the server that hosts Acmlm's Board, so that numbers problem affects other browsers also. (Although, I usually turn all that crap off, so I don't know whether it's still not installed)

The only problem for me is that it crashes sometimes.

I have 1.0.3 too.

For some odd reason it only happens with Firefox. At least on my computer.

Oh yeah did I mention how much the copy function sucks in Firefox ? It's like, I have to press ctrl+c a few times to get it to work. And sometimes rightclick->copy won't work either.

Ctrl+C doesn't work on a lot of things, not just Firefox. I finally got sick of it a few years ago and migrated to right clicking then selecting "copy". I haven't looked back since, got too used to ti.

But I've never had a problem with the right click>copy so....

"Does "This document contains no data." pop up in a window or appears on page? Becuse if you blocked something through hosts, such as adservers you get that message."

Now that you mention it, yes. I do adblock a lot of things on popular sites like Gamefaqs and Deadjournal. Maybe that's the reason...

I don't know about changing that into a default, but there's a hidden (gasp) setting that changes it so you get HTML error pages instead of annoying dialog boxes.

Go to about:config and change browser.xul.error_pages.enabled to true. Then it should take effect... or it does on the next restart, I forget that detail. But it's like the Windows registry, it get changed immediately and there is no save or Ok button.

The error means you didn't get anything besides a 'connection accepted' reply from the server. So either it's the connection or the server. You might have IE and FF configured differently... Also, I have that Copy problem in just about every program, it's rare though. It seems to be a Windows problem.

The occasional crash is annoying, but 99% of the time it's an extension's fault. Plus when you open it again, your history is still there under Go.

Finally when it takes forever to load, it's generally because you just installed a lot of extensions. Let it actually finish and it should work fine afterward.
