Hey! I was thinking, and I came up with this idea. here are the rules:

1) you may vote for one person no more than THREE times, however you may vote for them as many times as you wish otherwise. Any more, and your nominations will be ignored.

2) for whichever person you vote for, they will be given three points. if you only vote for them once, they will get three points towards whichever category you nominated them in. if you vote three times, only one point per category. if twice, then you'll need to specify, or I will decide myself. if you say, voted for one person once, but only wanted them to get two points, you could also specifiy that in your post.

3) The contest closes in two weeks tomorrow (may 20).

4) You may not vote for yourself

5) If anyone can think of something I missed, please post the rule.

6) The winners will be ranked, with the top 3 in each category receiving a trophy

7) You DO NOT need to post people for all of these categories

here are the categories:

Best SMW hacker (overall)
Best SMW hacker (Ripped GFX)
Best SMW hacker (original GFX)
Best SMW hacker (level design)
Best SMW hacker (Storyline)
Best SMW hacker (ASM)
Most inventive (12+ months here)
Most inventive (present here for 6-12 months)
Most inventive (here for less than 6 months)
SMW hacking's Poster boy
Most agreeable
Most constructive
Least constructive
Best sage advice
Biggest contribution to SMW Hacking (this year)
Biggest contribution to SMW Hacking (Overall)
Biggest contribution to SMW Hacking (Programs not yet released)
Best Newbie Hack (name of hack and author, please)
Best Veteran Hack (Same here)
Worst newbie hack (only name of hack here, please. no author discrimination, or the vote is ignored)
Most agreeable SMW Hacker
Least agreeable SMW Hacker
Most anticipated hack / hack series
Least anticipated hack / hack series

Cool....

One clarification though. Do you have a max of 3 points to give out PER CATEGORY or in TOTAL?

You can give out three points per person in total. For example, if you vote for someone in three different categories, you can no longer vote for that person elsewhere, although you can still vote for other people (following the above 3-point rule)

I hope this is right, although this is what I got from that post...

I really hope that ISN'T what he meant. That sounds rather absurd, don't you think?

So we can vote for the best Newbie hack, but not the worst? That seems to take the fun out of it.

i have a few questions on this: 1. What would be the difference between a constructive hack and an inventive hack? 2. What's a Poster Boy? 3. What do you mean by Most Agreeable Hacker? 4. Can you vote for more than one person in a certain category? Thanks.

OMG sticky!

||Bass: Yes, three points in total. leads to more variety. Alexa is right. i.e., you could vote for a person twice, give them one point in one category and two in another.

By poster boy, I mean "Who would you want to put forward as an example of an SMW hacker?"

they would be the same

Most agreeable hacker = easiest person to get along with

no, only one person per category.

Xenon, I will add that. Thank you for the idea.

You... You've gotta be fucking kidding me. NO. JUST NO. This is the worst idea ever and why the hell is it stickied? You just know the results will be incredibly skewed by the incredibly amount of idiots in this forums. I mean, come the fuck on, "Best SMW hacker (Ripped GFX)" is a category! Whoever stickied this thread: You're a fucking moron.

Yes. Ripping graphics is oh-so-difficult. Oh my god.

And this idea is stupid. Excessively. I originally thought it might have a chance, but reading all of the catagories... no.

Well yeah. And that's where you went wrong in making this (Well, that and the fact that the idea itself isn't terribly good) - your categories are stupid. I mean, you have a category for the biggest contribution that doesn't yet exist and possibly will never exist (Biggest contribution to SMW Hacking (Programs not yet released)). That's just... &_%

so what would you recommend Dr. Kyouji? I would like to see more than one person other than myself actuall state their votes, PM or otherwise.

EDIT: Obviously this thread was a watse of my time, so could a mod please unsticky this and close it? Apparently I shouldn't be putting this kind of an effort into SMW hacking.

Two bucks says this post gets me banned

I'd say you deserve it. This sort of behavior is unacceptable, Kyouji. I strongly suggest you learn to temper your responses. I already gave you a mild rebuke in the DWTLC thread... JJ gave you another one in that other thread a couple weeks ago. And now I find you recklessly flaming some other staff member (||bass?) over a silly thread being stickied?

OK, no matter what, I still say please vote, and I will hand out the awards. if the thread is closed, PM me. Next year, I will just have to take this somewhere else if this is what will happen. The only people here who have helped out are peter_ac, RR, and keikonium, and only a few others have been on topic. Right now, I have had more than enough of this, so I'm going to leave before I start to get mad (I have yet to actually get mad here. If I do, I will most certainly be banned for a number of reasons.). Good night.
