I wouldn't say the beginning was a "snore fest", but it did seem a little slow. Yes, the last half-hour totally rocked though.

Interesting fact though, since I watched the last bit of RoTJ last night (back to the possible plot-flaw in the birth, and childhoods of Leia and Luke)

Luke specifically asks Leia: "Do you remember your mother, your real mother?"

Just thought I'd point that out.

Well yeah. Part of the reason that it was dull at the beginning, if you ask me, is that damned bit where they're flying to rescue Palpatine at the very start. Dammit, the movie should've begun when they actually got in to the ship =/

Luke knew at that point who Leia was and that her parents couldn't have been her real parents...

Who in the world remembers their mother at birth?

On top of that, in Episode IV when Obi-Wan is showing off Anakin's lightsaber to Luke, he says:

"Your father wanted you to have this, when you were old enough, only your uncle wouldn't allow."

Meh, I think it was a little plot goof, others agree.

It doesn't really bother me though, afterall I've come to like this movie as much as the originals. It's not "better" than IV-VI, but I personally now think it ranks up to them.

I'm seeing it again tonight, and tommorow.

Perhaps Obi-Wan was lying to Luke?

I don't think we see enough of Anakin the Jedi Knight in this one. We are led to believe that he was the greatest Jedi Knight in the original trilogy, that he fell from grace.

Oh, we had the fall all right, what the film failed to convey was the grace Anakin was always meant to have. Lucas completely missed the point and he ruined his chance.

I dont think that was a goof.. i think annie would have wanted his son to use his old lighsaber.. if ol annie wasnt mentaly screwd up with the darkness that is..
So its not a matter of obi-wan lieing to luke but "bending the truth" just like when he said that Darth Vader killed his fater.... he did in a sence... Darth Vader killed everything that was good about Anakin Skywalker....
So obi-wan is just a manipulator in his old age.

An article that a brilliant critic I wrote on Bush identifying with the Sith.

Seriously, I refuse to believe that Lucas didn't intend to put that in there. It was just too blatant.

Well eh... that article about Bush doesn't seem very well written to me. The obvious parallels to the Bush administration are well... obvious. Intentional, I highly doubt.

btw Xedious you mean ironic coincidental.

Lifted from dictionary.com:

Ironic: Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended

So it was unexpected for Windwaker, of all people, to see parallels to G Dub in this movie? I'm sorry I don't quite follow what you're talking about.

I just got back from seeing it the 5th time today.

Finally, it took 5 times to finally see it without annoying people in the theater.

I also went to a different theater, than when I saw it the past 4 times, and this theater had an incredible surround sound system that really added to the movie.

Yeah, if you haven't seen this movie in a fancy theater with good surround sound yet, I'd recommend you do.

But which one? O:

I dunno, it might have been intentional, I don't know if it was Lucas's intention or not though.

It seems too blatant to overlook as a coincidence.
