So, did anyone notice any traits about darth maul, count dooku, and general greivous that also accurred in anakin? if no-one can guess...

Spoiler:
Maul had the eyes, dooku was a fallen jedi, like anakin, and greivous was more machine than man.

Heh, never thought about that one.

I was expecting you to say something like "Anakin and his hand fetish".

All my friends have been joking around about that one.

Saw it. Liked it a lot. It makes up for Attack of the Clones anyway, and I'd say it's better than The Phantom Menace (which I like). Nothing much I really disliked about the movie...

Certainly doesn't hold a candle to the original trilogy (that is, the untainted, non-special edition versions), but hey...those movies are magnificent, and I like models and puppets more than CGI.

It doesn't make sense to me how [Uncle] Owen is as old as he is in Ep.II and III. Weren't there like 11 years or something between Ep.I and II? So if Owen's from that dude and Anakin's mum (which I assume is the case, because Owen is considered Ani's half-brother), why, in Ep.II and III, is he an adult? Hmmmm... Con-ti-nu-i-ty error. :o

I didn't much like James Earl Jones' yell at the end. :(

I think he is too influenced by passions and emotions to be called a true Jedi, who preach detachment and discipline and so forth. To me this puts him sort of in the middle - someone who uses the force in balance rather than denying aspects of it like the Sith and Jedi do.

What does Luke have that is sithlike? I mean really now.

Also: Saw it a second time today. Saw a few things I didn't see the first time. Like, the imperfections of the CG which I just couldn't seem to get past :x

nothing, really, except he hates Vader and the empire. Hate only leads to suffering, and the dark side.

also, it appears that luke is MORE than ten years old in ep 4, so I'd guess 20 years minimum between eps 3 and 4

Man, Kyouji, you have problems with everything, don't you? Next thing you know you will be saying that dirt is too small.

Anyway, this movie was a great movie. I like it. While they should have done more battle scenes at Kashykk (that would have been even better if it was longer) I thought the movie was pretty good.

The story actually connected in a good way and while the love scene parts sucked big time (come on, how cliche is that?) the battles and the whole chanceller part was good.

(My opinion. NOT fact.)

He did what Yoda said he had to do to become a Jedi and that was to face Vader. Even Vader acknowledged that his training was complete because he accomplished the final step a Jedi had to take which was assembling a lightsaber.

Luke was a Jedi at that point, no two ways about it.

This is true, but it's clear in RotJ that his training in the Jedi arts is not complete. Maybe something along the lines of him not being a "master", as they say in Ep3.

I'm sure I didn't bitch about it nearly as much as your average CG-hating Star Wars elitist.

I think most of us fans here like Abnormal Freak said, all enjoyed the puppets over CG.

That's something I thought brought the new Trilogy down a bit, way too much CG. I mean, even the early-Storm-Troopers are completely animated, minus their faces, thus ... I couldn't help but notice that it looked stupid.

As for Luke, MathOnNapkins is probably right, since it's pretty much impossible for Luke to even get full training in the Jedi ways, with all the Jedi dead for the most part.

His early training was with Kenobi. And remember, he is a super-powerful Jedi.

Yoda honed his skills and he furthered it on his own. He was a Jedi. Plain and simple. And remember Kenobi's spirit was teaching him from BEYOND THE GRAVE...OOOOOOOOH

Yeah it is return of the Jedi, and i think he did become a jedi... you dont have to have all your force powers maxed out and to be a "master" to be a Jedi

He was a padawan when he was trained by obiwan and yoda.. when he finaly faced vader.. (and he didnt hate durring that fight.. remember he was trying to convert him and stuff and did at the end)

And hell, only really powerfull froce users can come back from the dead and talk to the dead... and Luke can talk to the dead... hear the dead and stuff like that..
He can learn new stuff off of the dead later on... if he has to

Well, in reading MathOnNapkins post correctly, what I meant was that Luke may not be a "Master".

Yes, he's clearly a Jedi Knight, but just maybe not the rank of a Master.

Then again it doesn't matter, since he restores the Jedi Order, may as well call him Jedi Deus.

Are you sure that's fact?

Anakin didn't get the rank himself, I guessed because of his age, but it seemed like they did "consider" giving the title to him; when he himself had no apprentice under him.

There are rare cases when it can happen, yes, but for the most part it's given to someone who either has an apprentice or has trained padawan into becomming a Jedi.

I believe the only two ways to become a Jedi Knight are to pass the trials, or to defeat a Sith. His training is complete, but Luke doesn't become a Knight until he defeats Darth Vader at the end of RotJ.
