screw you lucas for ruining the entire star wars expreience because you overplayed the cruely factor. I hate you now. I guess the only upside was I got the tickets free.

Spoiler:
Yeah, because Grand Moff Tarkin sure doesn't kill a lot of children and innocents when he has the Death Star attack Alderaan, right? It's one of the ways of the Dark Side, see?

Ugh, why don't we just make a spoiler thread? It seriously gets old having to highlight all of these.

Anyways, I saw the movie yesterday, and I was enlightened to a new level. The intensity in this movie is truly something else.

Whatever, time for the real talk. (And I can easily point out the biggest plot mistake)

Spoiler:

- Overall I think Hayden greatly improved from Episode II, in fact his only "cheesy" dialogue parts were with Padme and their goofy love talks. (They were horrible)
- But who did I think did bad? Palpatine, seriously. For myself, and my friends, we agreed he either did "Fantastic" or "Horrible". When Mace Windu had his lightsaber to his neck, and Anakin came up and Palpatine says "Nooooooo, Noooooo", he looked and sounded absolutely hilarious. He had some really cheesy moments, but then some awesome moments that just made me picture him from Episode V and VI.
- Grevious should have been better. Four freaking lightsabers? And he was ended that quickly? I was a little dissapointed with this character overall.
****Ultimate Plot Goofup****
- Think back to Return of the Jedi, and when Leia and Luke had their talk on Endor, and look reveals that they're sister and brother. Well in this conversation Luke brings up their parents, Leia says that she remembers her mother, and that she was beautiful. Now, according to Episode III, how exactly does this work out when Padme dies right after child birth? I can believe that Leia may be thinking of Organa, but still that birth part wasn't put together very well. My friend says Luke and Obi-Wan discuss Luke's father in Episode IV also, I cannot clerify on this though myself as I can't really remember if that's true. (In other words, Luke remembers his father a bit too, thus how would it work out according to Episode III?)
- It seemed like Yoda kind of gave up on his fight with Palpatine, if you ask me, I'd say Yoda was owning up on him.
- I think the scene that hinted the very fact that Anakin killed the young Padawans was a bit extreme, and the movie could have been fine without. But, this after all a very dark movie.
- I almost felt like tearing when the "Empire" started killing the Jedi's.
- One thing I didn't like about how this movie was put together, was the flow with Anakin. You look at the beginning of the movie, and he tells himself that killing Douku is bad. By the end of the movie, he's killing people and children left and right like flies. A little HUGE jump there I'd say.

Overall this movie was great (I know I know, my complaints probably gave you the idea that I didn't like it, but I honestly did). I loved how it filled in the holes, and tied things together, from simple things like Obi-Wan picking up Anakin's lightsaber, to huge things like how the Seperists were ended, etc.

Overall, I wouldn't say it matched up to the orginals, but then again how could anything? I think it's just the flow of the New Trilogy, and the overexageration, that kind of lowered it's "greatness" factor when compared to the more believable, and more broad Original Trilogy.

I'd give this movie, probably a 9.5 out of 10. (10 being impossible, except I'd give EsB and RotJ both a 10 =P)

Yeah. I might see it again tonight.

Yeah, that's another thing I kind of thought. Since, who knows, that kind of "ability" runs in the family or something?

Nintendo DS : Yeah, the duels in this movie rocked. And I think it's safe to say the Anakin - Obi-Wan duel lived up to it's hype. (The music made my hair tingle)

As for Leia, Bail knew Padme, so he may have had pictures and told Leia stories about her when she was young.

And Xeodious, about the "HUGE jump", it shows how easy it is to fall completely to the dark side once you start down the path.

Trust me, I put thought into that too.

Once you're in [Dark Side], you can't stop the fall.

Anyways, Anakin still does keep true to the prophecy by the end of VI.

I never would have imagined that one of the prequels would end up being the best Star Wars movie ever made.

Your opinions are wrong. The movie was too rushed to compare to 4-6.

I liked it, though nobody values anyone else's opinion on it anyways. I thought that they led into IV a bit too literally (it could have been a bit more complex, at least with the droids).

However, Anakin's acting was somewhat lacking; it couldn't compare to Luke's.

Actualy i feal that the prophecy was fofilled here, in the end, there were 2 jedi and 2 sith, Sounds complete to me!
I just saw it, I thought it was great!
I think its a great transision, and i loved how, along with a few new songs, they mix music from every movie, like at times you can hear Luke's theme durring some moments and especaly at the end....

and to the really desturbing part that you guys were talking about, at the temple...
that had to happen... as horable as it was, it was defently needed.. to show how quick one falles into darkness

*Just got back from seeing it the 2nd time.

Holy shit.

Wow, I think it was better than the first time seeing it. The Anakin vs Obi-Wan duel almost made my body explode (I was tingling). And I now have to say, I really think it did capture the same feeling and same emotion that the Luke vs Vader duel at the end of VI had too.

To me it didn't seem all that forced. Anakin always felt held back by Obi-Wan, and he surely resented him for it. That fight was the explosion of that frustration.

The prophecy, I think gets fulfilled, when Vader kills Palpatine and then dies. To me, it seems that both the Jedi and the Sith are unnatural and arbitrary perversions and distortions of the force - the Jedi as joyless Catholic conservative types and the sith as destructive egotists - the force is unbalanced by their conflict. In the end, Luke, who is neither Jedi nor Sith - who fights with both discipline and emotion - is the last one standing, and this is made possible by Vader's sacrifice.

Annakin fulfils the prophecy but it costs him his life, his love, everything he held dear.

Yep, as many of us have already said that, Anakin / Vader does in a "sense" still fufill the prophecy.

A fact though, he couldn't have done it without Luke's help.
