Hey. I have been working on my OW, but I have noticed that sometimes the OW flashes blue, except for the tile that is appearing when an event occurs. it only seems to happen sometimes, though. does anyone know why?

I don't know for sure, but this type of thing has happened to me before, except opposite of what is happening to you. I have had the event tiles flash blue (sometimes yellow or white), but the rest of the overworld be fine. Then sometimes the overworld would have weird colored outlines after exiting a level with no custom palette.

I have fixed both of these problems by:

1. Not opening the game up from a savestate. Especially after editing any part of the game. Better to start off the game by loading it up with no savestate, just the in-game save.

2. Enabling custom palette in every level. It fixed the outline thing, and that never happens anymore.

3. Sometimes the events mess up because of the speed the game is being played at. Try lowering or increasing the speed and see if that helps.

I have never seen the entire overworld flash, but it sounds like something to do with palettes from inside the levels. Like the level you just finsihed may be interfearing with the event it enables.

Don't really know if any of that would help seeing as this has never happened to me before, but good luck.

One sure fire way to make sure this bug appear is to set color 0 for any palette in the level you are completing to something other than the default. There may be other ways, but that is one way I am absolutely certain will bring it on.

That would be why it happens. I always set colour 0 to the blue colour from the status bar so that I can edit 8x8 tiles easier. thanks.

That's what I usually do, too. I was actually wondering if anyone was ever going to run into the same problem so I could demonstrate my knowledge on the subject.
