Is there such a thing? There should be. We've got lists of quality Zelda 3 and SMW hacks, but I'm having trouble finding good MM hacks. There's plenty of them around, but I've been digging through too much crap today.

I would mainly be refering to Megaman 1-6.

There are plenty of Mega Man 1 and 2 hacks out there, although only some of them are good. Look at this place to find a bunch of released hacks (of Mega Man 1 - 6). But again, many of these are crappy.

If I can recommend some good ones, try The Adventure of Bass 2 by Sivak or Mega Man 4: Gadget Master by Schwa. I'm a real Mega Man fan myself, and I enjoyed these.

Quick edit: Another hack I enjoyed is this one for Mega Man 2. Also, do a Google search for "Mega Man Neo", another Mega Man 2 hack.

Which is funny, because Megaman Neo was the beta name for Megaman Legends XD.

I don't keep up with hacks as much as I should. I know that a friend of mine, redrum, did some megaman 1 hack and a megaman 2 hack. It might only be graphical, though I'm not sure.

It's sad to see no MegaManVI hacks around... with the MM6 editor sixtans, coded by myself.

Speaking of which, wasn't that still in progress?

I bet you could make an even better editor than that loser who coded Visine

I really enjoyed Megaman Wily's Conquest 2 by HyperMegamanZ. Matrixz's imcomplete Megaman 3 hack was also quite good. Both can be found at DES. Then there was also that Megaman 5 hack by Dark X, I think. Can't for the life of me remember the name.

Even though there are tons of editors for the Megaman games, there doesn't seem to be as many hacks. Shame.

For your information, I am the "loser" that wrote visine.
Yes, it's on my works. Japanese guys *love* my editor... a lot.

WHOA! My hack got recommended???

Nice! Thanks, guys! I mean I knew it was good, but seriously, THAT good? Wow!

And of course, in case I didn't say this before, I owe all respect possible to Fx3 for making MegaFLE, with which I created that MM4 hack.

Of course I was kidding. Still, Visine isn't nearly as much as piece of crap as that god aweful program, VILE!

Uh... can you STOP with those jokings?
"VILE" has never existed (only in the minds of my helper), but actually HALed (Lolo editor).

I think it may be because its DOS based and not to many people are fond of that

But you are the only one that DID make a MM6 editor so I'll give ya credit there

What's wrong with dos based programs? Do so many people have that crappy version of Windows XP that doesn't have DOS support?

I'm wondering about the same thing. How can there be so many hacks of Mega Man 1, 2 and even 3 then? Although the editors are in DOS, they do pretty much every thing you want. I've used them much, and have no serious complains so far. What's your problem with DOS, turtleman? Doesn't it work?

Presumably the problem is because it requires not being lazy, and actually reading the manual for Visine/Sixtans/any DOS editor.

Yeah, and I'm not sure if he's continueing it.

I loved that hack though, the new graphics were awesome, and the ASM trick to have an "intro" level was pretty nice too.

But yeah, I've played a handful of good Megaman 2-3 hacks myself, can't remember any of them specifically though.

I really wish there were more MM5-6 hacks though, they had new gameplay elements compared to the older ones which could make hacks more interesting, but to me it only seems poplular to hack Megaman 1-3 or something.
