| I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I can tell you the real answer. In an interview I heard on the TV Guide channel a year or so back (I have a poor sense of time, could've been longer), he said that everybody's lightsaber was the same color, and he'd be involved in a lot of grand-scale battles, so it'd be easy for the moviegoers to lose him. He wanted them to give his lightsaber a unique color, so he'd stand out and be easy to spot amongst the masses. Purple is an easier to recognize and bolder color compared to the average lightsaber. | |||

| What ever the reason was...can we all agree that... MACE WINDU IS THE GREATEST JEDI EVER?!?! edit--oh since we are already on the subject of color. I was watchin G4 a while ago and they were showing old star wars games. This one game i think it was called Jedi Knight had some live-action cut scenes, they were lame as hell and the "Jedi" in them was some middle aged balding guy (looked more like a loser fan than anything) Anyways his saber was yellow, and i thought wow thats pretty cool too bad dudes a douche. so did he have a yellow one just cause he wanted it too?
