Even if Nintendo dosent get Revolution ready in time, it dosnt meen there gonna be dead in the water, I think that the next Zelda game will be able to hold nintendo out long enough, Im guessing here that they wont be able to really show it till 07, mabie later... and about the controler, if they want it to be customizeable by the companys I picture it being something with L and R buttons on the top, with a Dpad or stick on the left and a touch screen on the right or taking up the rest of the controller...or mabie like the n64's controll with a dpad on the right and a stick on the middle bottom and the other buttons are replaced with a touch screen....

Well, I figure the press conference starts with a new Zelda trailer (rumored name: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which kicks all sorts of ass) which is one of those "pop the crowd easily" things. Then they'll bring Miyamoto out so that the crowd will cheer, as they always do so whenever he appears.

I follow the industry a lot so I know what kind of death trap Nintendo could be walking into. The problem is that if it's a no-show, then they have to give a REALLY good reason as to why. Like I said, they could get around it by just showing the system design itself and some videos, which I suspect they would do if they are boxed into that corner.

I doubt they would add a touch screen with the DS and all. I think they rather use the DS and do some connectivity between thoose two things.

And, Nintendo usually do show off an Zelda demo. There was one for N64, and then the infamous one for Gamecube. So I wouldn't be surprised if they did show off a tech demo of revolution. :/

...And why would they use Zelda as a tech demo?

If they use one, it uses Mario (or if they're really trying to make a mature push, Samus Aran). They're already going to be showing off Zelda: Twilight Princess so there's no need to use the same franchise twice.

Well, they used Zelda for tech demo the last two generations. But they could as well go wtih another francise. The tech demos seldom turn into full games anyway...

Picture of revolution?

Looks pretty nice if I say so, if not quite small. It will actually fit between my NES and VHS player. I like it that small, since my video game corner is kinda cramped.

Nintendo, which mostly ignored the Net with GameCube, also is catching up with the online wave. Revolution will offer broadband access to a free Internet-based player matching service, similar to Xbox Live, that also will have downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game

9:27 am: Iwata: Convinced game development on Revolution will be easier and far less costly than for other machines. "Big idea can prevail over big budget." Revolution is a solution to help maximize creative freedom. Iwata then talks about backward compatibility. "Redefining term of backward compatability." It's a virtual console, able to download 20 years of Nintendo content. You will be able to Download NES, Super NES and N64 games. You can get every Nintendo game ever made. "Revolution shares a vision with DS. The machine is just a tool for software."

I first saw the picture of the revolution.. and kinda.. thought of it as a tiny, hollow brick. I completely forgot about that when I read the details and such stuff.

I just need to hear one more thing to make me faint. If it was possible to have the 20 years of Nintendo content be avaible for wifi multiplayer.

But... Oh-Emm-Gee...

"Believes 90% of DS owners will be online."
Woah woah, sure I can see how they are very happy on that conference, but isn't that a little overkill? Unless hotspots get's common everywhere in the earth. Well, it probably will be with time.
MOST POST MORE ARTICLES ABOUT THE SAME THING

God, I really love the idea of playing old games. Even if I own them, I would love playing a few of the N64 games I never got. Althought licenses can be a problem, i'm not expecting Goldeneye or Perfect dark. ; Heh, maybe they release old SNES games that was unreleased before. This seems to be inspired with Nintendo's iQue thing which was fairly succeful in China I think.

"Freedom of design: A dynamic development architecture equally accommodates both big-budget, high-profile game "masterpieces" as well as indie games conceived by individual developers equipped with only a big idea."

...seems like Nintendo really learned from their N64 mistake and maybe even make it possible for indivduals to get a SDK. With a small fee of course.

And i'm expecting the thing to be cheap, Nintendo was succeful with the NES becuse people could afford it. And that is still true today. (DS outsells PSP... and X-box didn't get a breakthrough until Microsoft decided to give it a big pricedrop)

Edit: Keep in mind, even the Gamecube can emulate the old games. I guess it's the Internet part that is new. I wonder what equipment I would need at home, if I found a cheap effective Wifi router.

...and THAT'S where they get the name.

I think we can safely say killer app Nintendo has. (Oh yeah, and the whole backwards-compatibility thing too.)

The Revolution looks like a DVD player. Nothing bad about that, though.

I like the new open architecture design for the system Nintendo is taking. I think that it will intice a wider range of titles.

Although all three systems look like ass. Now, time to wait to see the controller.

But the new GBA is pretty fucking sweet looking.

Ive said it once and ill say it again. I will own you all with Mario. Case Closed.

As soon as some pics or vid on this new Smash Bros is released I must see them. The only reason I bought and still have a gamecube is because of Melee.
