| Heh, you got the title from the first comment on /., right? Yeah, this isn't going to translate well with the general public for the sheer fact that they'll think it was the unit as a whole and not just the Li Ion battery that exploded. |

| the only thing that could generate issues is the lithium ion battery. Everything else is relatively inert when it comes to dangerous reactions. I heard from my organic chemistry teacher is if a lithium ion battery cracks, the battery should be wrapped up in some type of bag and discarded. Otherwise, the Lithium in the battery will react with air--which I think is what happened to the guy. He must have pierce the battery or something. in some ways, goes to show that apple products--although very chic in appearance--are not environmentally friendly to discard... |
