Whenever I listen to music, images flood my mind. Often, they could be easily turned into a music video. This is why I rarely watch music videos; the images they depict are rarely similar to what I think up. Mainly because most music videos simply show the band members preforming and going through some situation; it's just a chance to show off. Anyway, one concept I came up with recently was when listening to Merciless Cult by Dir en Grey. The concept is that there is someone hunting demons, but nobody knows who it is. In the first scene, as the vocals are smooth and low, we see a particularly lanky demon creeping around some locale, perhaps a mansion of some sort. As we approach the crescendo, he enters a room where a little girl is sitting at a desk drawing. She doesn't notice him. He creeps towards her more and more, and as Kyo's vocals explode, we see a montage consisting of the demon attacking with his sharp claws and gnarled fangs. It's done in the American-animation style, where you see the punches and swipes, but not the victim. Images of blood being spilt are spliced into the montage. When the music dies down, back to the smooth level, we're treated to an image of the room smeared and splattered with blood, and the demon laying there in pieces, hacked up as with a knife. The little girl is nowhere to be seen. The next time we get to the crescendo in the second verse, we see a closeup of the little girl's lips, cutting to different perspectives of a room full of various demons, then back to her face. We pan out and the little girl is standing in the middle of this room, surrounded by the demons. They all look pleased to have cornered her, but next we cut to her lips, they widen into a wicked, toothy smile. She's the demon hunter, and procedes to proverbially "pwn" the demons with a giant butcher knife. Am I just weird, or does anybody else do this? |

Yeah. I was once listening to this Avantasia song, and it was very diverse. Low paced, then fast, slowly builds up, then drops, ever so changing. I had an idea about making an AMV (anime music video) with the song, with Sasuke (even though I honestly will say he's my least favorite character in the anime, the song would have just fit his character perfectly) and Sasuke's growth at what he becomes. I pictured it while listening to the song from the beginning to the end. Emotional, and outstanding. Then I realized I'd never be able to make it on my computer, nor would I probably have the patience to attempt it. (edited by Darth Xeodious on 05-13-05 10:08 AM) |
