This hack is going to be so bad ass when it's finished. I also have a strong feeling that the final version of this hack may not be quite so soon in coming to us. Things don't always go as planned and there are bound to be set backs along the way, even this close to completion. In any case, I have faith. You guys have already done most of the hard work. Your pixel artist should be able to liven up your hack considerably. I can't wait to see what he/she does.

I hope you have 50 different backups on 50 different servers just in case. You never know when disaster strikes(or you corrupt the rom by accident).

I have about 300 different zelda roms spread across 3 computers... i learned my lesson the hard way. I have also found ways around the corruption in HM. Its all about learning the little quirks of the program.

As for the new graphics, i have seen some, and my pixel artist is doing a fantastic job. I can only hope that he continues to do great work, and hopefully we can have a great looking game ready for release in a couple months.

I hope the graphics will own up to expectations.

The trouble with secrecy in graphic hacks is that it's all subjective. I've seen people call things stupendous, even though frankly they weren't very good.
I'll admit that at this point, a lot of stuff will automatically be better than what was in LttP to begin with, but just how much better is the question.

Shouldn't the grass in the Dark World be different from the grass in the Light World? I think that's how it was in the original.

Good point DM. No need to show the entire overworld. As for the huge mistake itself I would'nt say it was that bad, since after that I changed everything and learned even more things with the editor. It's a good for a bad in other words. But yes, some good screens are enough to built some hype while keeping it spoiler free.

I love the current screens shown... I can't wait to toss this sucker in my emulator and play it...

I hope this artist of yours is good, a bunch of new, good graphics could change the mood of this game significantly. (In a good way.)

Yeah, playing it in an emulator would be great, but you know what would be even better? Playing it on a snes. Thats how i am going to play it through for the first time. When i release it, I intend to release a full guide to building your own cartridge and putting DP onto it. I am also making carts for a select few who have requested it, but since thats probably illegal and i dont have the time, i am not offering it to everyone.

That would be really nice to play on a real SNES.... Depending on how this ends up, I would think a SNES cart with this on it would be awesome.

Also, I would pay cash to get my SMB hack, Mushroom Nightmare, on an NES cart. *Drools*

That, would rock.

I'd love learning how to make and build my own carts, and put roms on them.
Not for real games, but something like this, a Rom Hack, or maybe a Translated game (i.e. Seiken Densetsu 3).

Anyways Omega, looks very impressive. I haven't played a complete Z3 hack since your first game you made, but this one looks really good.

PS. What happened to Lyria Islands? Sorry, ever since I left TEK I haven't really been updated on the status with Rom Hacking in general.

Edit: Guess it was cancelled?

Yeah, it is dissapointing. I remember keeping up with it, and even gave several ideas when it was discussed through staff at TEK.

At least we still have this to look forward too.

After cancelling Lyra Islands and my Minish Cap convertion for Zelda 3, I decided on releasing an hack which could be done "really"... Gates of Time

Seems like you haven't been around lately
Doesnt mather, you will be looking forward three hacks in the next months (year?) Which are Dark Prophecy, Tower of the Triforce and Gates of Time.

Judging by your layout, and obviously being the man behind Lyra Islands, I remember who you are now. (used to go by Uchiha Itachi)

Yeah, I've been behind in this business as of lately.

But thanks for the heads up, I didn't know 3 LttP hacks were in the making, only this one actually. So yeah, maybe I'll start reading this forum more often.

have a look at my page, then:
http://snesdev.romhack.de

there are several step-by-step guides on how to assemble snes cartridges from roms.
for zelda 3, you'd proceed just like treasure hunter g (well, unless you convert the whole game to hirom like i did, but i havent touched my zelda 3 files for ages. )

its not that hard, actually.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you want to convert a whole rom to hi-rom? Sounds like a lot of work for almost no benefit.
