| OK... Let's see how well I can put this together. 5/2, 2:00 AM or so - DSL cuts off. That's no big deal, given how 2 AM is usually around the time that Bell starts to do maintenance if that's on the schedule. 5/3 - Still no DSL. I'm not terribly worried given that there was still some rain outside and I assumed that the line might have gotten wet. Of course, it didn't come up all day. 5/4 - Again, no net. Now I'm starting to get a bit worried but at least the "DSL" light on my modem's coming on now. It just isn't staying put. 5/5 - Net came on for a few minutes, and I got to do a couple of things online to basically alert people (like staff) that things were flaky... then, of course, the thing dies again. 5/6 - I start playing Final Fantasy 9, Sword of Mana, Robowarrior and Faxanadu. Hell, I need SOMETHING to pass the time. 5/7 - Back up for about an hour or so, and I offered up a second update to staff and assured everyone that it looked like things were fine. Of course they weren't. 5/8 through 5/10 - Status quo. I was this close to calling Sympatico's tech support, but... I've heard horror stories, and they make you go through the idiot scanning service (otherwise known as Level 1 Tech Support) before you get someone who's not reading off a script. :\ I decide to give it one more day. 5/11 - YAY! Net works as of 11 AM! That's great news! ...Oh, and at 9 AM today I had my wisdom teeth removed, which makes it an anti-climatic return back.  So hard to eat/drink the first day... face swelling up... need to play catch-up here... no idea if painkillers are working or not... ugh.  So there you go. Figure I'll be online as much as possible the next 2 days at least to make up for lost time.  Not a fun way to start summer vacation, that's for sure. |

| ...no backup dial-up or something? My ISP actually offers a dial-up number which costs per minute, but is good for emergency situations where my DSL is down. Needless to say, I never had to use that with my current ISP.  |

| Bleh, the company should've offered backup dialup as already mentioned. At least, when I was running an ISP, I would've. Anyways, you're not alone with the internet thing... My old ISP (also known as my boyfriend) 's internet went down four weeks ago, and was declared Dead (by me, in a towering rage) just over a week ago after not even a blip of internet for three weeks straight. I ordered ADSL and it was connected yesterday. I am currently torrenting up a storm now. |

Actually, Kitten Yiffer/Taryn, I do have backup dial-up... but... I kinda opted to save $25 and not put a 56k modem in my PC when I bought it last year.  I'd love to be torrenting right now but I'm at 30kb/s download and 80kb/s upload.  |

| Reminds me of this a few years ago, except it wasn't quite as bad in my case ... I think only once did I have a full day of no Internet I'm sure it really did seem like a long downtime if you counted one day too much, both here and on the ACS  |

| Well if they came out straight then that's fine but you should still check with a dentist to see if they'll cause you any problems. Just make sure to brush them REALLY well. All four of mine were still under the gum and straight - but they were a bit hard (texture-wise) to get out because of all the milk I've drank. |
