| http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/11/1107_031107_snailarmor.html A deep sea hydrothermal vent envinroment snail was discovered 2 years ago. It has iron based metal scales. It sounds like something out of a scifi movie/videogame. Like some kind of horrific RPG monster you might encounter. Old news, perhaps, but still news to me. I can't seem to find any 'update' on the subject, though. As far as I know the species hasn't even been named yet. |
