| Don't worry, it's nothing SUPER offensive. The reason I ask is because I posted this in the World of Warcraft forum this morning and had tons of people jumping on me calling me "racist", "scum", and even a "neo-nazi bastard". More than one said that I was an ignorant racist who deserved to die. I was banned for "Offensive Posts/Spamming" for three days. Now I'm not racist at all and the WoW fanbase is roughly 12 years old on average so I present it here to get a more intelligent opinion. Link |

If anything, it's stereotyping. And on the other hand, one could look at it as not a racial picture, but a political one that says "Hey, there are a lot of gold farmers in this game." The fact that the picture has a bunch of Asian people in it should be meaningless. (Although whoever made the picture was probably trying to get both points across.) |

| No, it's nothing like that. See, the border around the image is the user interface for World of Warcraft, an mmorpg. With these types of games, there comes gold farmers. These people stay in one area and "farm" for gold and then turn around and sell it on ebay (or other sites) to other players of the game for real money. Now China is notorious for this. They have actual shops set up with multiple computers. Each computer has one account on it that's played 24 hours a day by different people on different shifts. The people who farm get paid very little to farm this gold for whatever company it is they may be working for. A good majority of gold farmers come from China so this is what the picture is about. |

| It isn't racist, it is dead hilarious. But some morons out there interpret gold to be the colour yellow, and in their minds they furthermore transfer that to assuming that Asian=yellow. Which in and of itself is racial imbuing. So, it could be misconstrued as racist to people that don't play WoW. |

| No it would be warrented for the fact that enough people found offense to it. Racial remark, or act, can be pretty much defined as a saying or doing that someone could see as discriminating towards a group of people of a race. Like if I said something that could be as a joke to that person like say I called Halo2-tankwhore a dumb american hick, but we were friends, and someone heard that they could take offense to it and I would be labled a racist. It is a very controversial issue and so is racial discrimination, basically minorities. Anyone after a while will be a minority. For instance say that a college can accept only a certain amount of one race, in this instance a white american, and then because of minorities there are more well lets say Asians accepted and then there are more Mexicans excepted. That just makes the white american a minority, wouldn't that let him into that college? Well I have ventured a little off topic so I will stop and let that be done. |
