Can I hit you with a piece of wood until you die. That was a totally worthless guess, please, keep that kind of insanity out of this game.

Does anyone else have a guess that would actually make sense?

Anyway could it be that he lost a job or something working with timber and he couldn't go through life anymore so he shot himself with a piece of wood next to him?

Would the sight of this piece of wood on some other day, say a week ago, have caused the man to kill himself?

Was it the piece of wood that changed over that week?

If so, did someone other than him change it?

Are you getting these from a book of lateral puzzles? Because I read this one in such a book, and it's such an odd question that you must have gotten it from the same book...

Yet again i am probly wrong but i'l take a stab at it anyway. The wood was cut off a tree just recently. He loved this tree it was conected to a cherished memory. Say for instance it might be the place he was married to his his wife or the place she died or something. Recently someone chopped the tree as they cut it up they though it into the back of a trailer. So far they had only cut up that peice. When the man saw the wood it reminded of his wife and made him think how he couldn't live wwithout her so he shot himself.

The only other thing i can think of is that he has had bad experiences with wood/trees and he was trapped in the truck with the wood and he couldn't bare being with the wood so he shot himself?

Did the other person deliberately change the wood to make him shoot himself?

This is probly wrong also but i'll say it anyway.
The man is a blind midget, the shortest one in the circus. Another midget, jealous because he's not as short, has been sawing small pieces off of the first one's cane every night, so that every day he thinks he's taller. Since his only income is from being a circus midget, he decides to kill himself when he gets too tall.

This could depend on which one you're talking about, the truck or the bridge. I'm saying that the bridge (And not the truck) couldn't move without damaging the trucks roof. So maybe the bridge is moveable, and the girl suggested to ask the man looking after the bridge to fix it.

Although I haven't seen a low, moveable bridge a truck could get under

Sew What?

In 1685, it was decided that a portrait should be painted of the Duke of Monmouth. however, a needle and thread were required before the artist could begin his work. there was nothing wrong with the Duke's clothes, so why was a needle and thread needed?

Was it because the paint board was cloth and their was a rip in the middle or something so the painter had to sew it back together?
