| Special Rule: Schwa and I have agreed to allow some healing in this battle. I've been excited over this one for quite some time now... ----- There was a blinding flash of turquoise light that lit up the late evening darkness at a peculiar shrine. Following the flash was a ghastly scream, which lasted a few seconds before stopping abruptly, with the light. Ghost stood in the middle of this shrine, with his staffspear pointed forward at the ground where somebody had, until recently, been lying on the ground. Now there was no trace of him or her at all, for Ghost had sucked up their soul, and it was now trapped inside his weapon. In a rather bored fashion, or rather an entirely emotionless fashion, Ghost turned back around and faced one of the many tall slabs of stone that composed the circumference of the shrine. He then stuck his blade into it, and a portal opened right before him, which he was just about to enter when he felt something wasn't right... | OOC: Way to go... a genuine elite battle of titans. Good luck, I expect you to fight with your all... This first attack doesn't count as part of the battle, it's just part of the storyline and should be dodged or defended against w/o affecting Ghost's stamina in any way. Also, though two characters show up, one will soon leave. A sparkling sound disrupts the silence, followed by... "Alpha Psibeam!" (echo effects) "Psi Arrow!" (echo effects) A male then female voice yells the name of an attack respectively. Instantly, from the darkness, an arc of lavender/silver Holy-Psychic energy, followed by a crimson arrow of energy, rushes toward Ghost. The two figures wait until the attack hits or is avoided/blocked (OOC: which should probably be so) before showing themselves. After a small pause, a teenage male, wearing white, loose clothes, a black blindfold and fists flaring with pure etheral energy approaches. Behind him, barely visible, is a teenage girl, also in white, loose clothes, but her blindfold is grey, her hair is in a ponytail and the ether around her fists is a red-orange. The male figure stares at Ghost, a firey confidence in his eyes. "Schwa, this is it..." the girl telepathically tells him (only Schwa can hear it)... "This is real battle. Don't mess up." "Allaura, I can handle this. Head back to Crystal Psipalace and send me your energy from there with the other Psi Warriors." Allaura then nods, and steps out of the room. Schwa takes one more step forward toward Ghost and says aloud, "I am Schwa. Tell me your alignment and do NOT lie." |

| Out of the darkness, Ghost saw the two projectiles heading at him just in time to sidestep out of the way. They each hit the stone pillar he was facing, leaving noticeable marks. He put his hand on it for a moment, and then clenched it into a fist. It, whatever it was, had been damaged! Fiercely, Ghost turned to Schwa, who was now the only person in the shrine. Ghost: My alignment? I suppose that would depend entirely on one's code of ethics, but I'm sure by your standards... Ghost paused for a moment, then walked a little closer to Schwa, circling him very slowly, and staring intently at him. Ghost: ...I would be evil. Now, I've answered your little question, but I must know what you've seen here...and do not lie. Ghost continued to circle Schwa. He was quite an intimidating sight: His suit was mostly black, but across his chest, stretching from each shoulder down to each side of his waist, was a turquoise X. He wore tan gloves with turquoise diamonds on them, as well as tan boots. The lower part of his full body suit, where is pants would be, slowly turned from black at the top to a blue at the end, and ended in sharp, triangular frills that mostly covered the boots. He also wore a dark blue mask, with a decorative stitched mouth drawn downward, unnaturally long, and completely black holes for eyes. Looking into them, you couldn't see anything but pure black darkness. The end of his mask, near the back of his head, was pointed backward in a zigzagging shape like this: /\/\ and drooped down a few inches behind him. At the point of this was a floating blue flame. You couldn't see his skin at any point on his body. Ghost: Well? |

| Schwa has his eyes closed the entire time Ghost circles him. At last he speaks. "I am Schwa, the Psi Warrior. I am an assassin against ALL forms of Evil, equipped and empowered by the most powerful forces in existance-- the Living Assets, Virtue, Respect and Honor. Watch." Schwa holds hs right arm up, and blue ether coats the entire thing, flaring up BRILLIANTLY. It lights the entire shrine up with a very bright blue light. After maybe 7 seconds, the ether flares down to just coat his fist again. "That's pure Holy energy, my foe. Holyness is the ultimate weapon against the Undead. We've been watching you... Ghost... from Crystal Psipalace, since the moment you arose from your resting place. Sensae can detect ALL Undead on this planet automatically. And guess what he did?" Suddenly, Schwa thrusts his hands forward, and a vortex of ether fills the room. It weaves around but never touches Ghost. "He sent ME to intercept you before you became too powerful." The ether turns crimson! "And I WILL accomplish my mission. You will not exist after I finish tangoing with you." The ether disappears entirely. "Ghost... I have never met a Good Undead creature; you are no exception. No matter how good you are at battle... it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to defeat a Psi Warrior. "But that's enough talk... You have 10 seconds to tell me what you're thinking, then I kill you. Enjoy." Schwa doesn't feel at all intimidated by Ghost... In reality he is actually underestimating his foe-- a BIG mistake for a Psi Warrior, and very unhonorable. But Schwa is very competitive and can't entirely help it... He's also under the impression that one hit will KO Ghost... That's PROBABLY not the case, but ya never know...  |

| Ghost chuckled wickedly, and the sound echoed through the stone shrine. Ghost: I hardly think you, or your Sensae know what you're getting into, boy. You wish for my destruction? What a foolish notion. Ghost started hovering a few inches above the ground, and stretched his arms outward and behind him. The room darkened, and blue fire sprouted up behind him, giving a backdrop that added to the mood of things. His voice elevated. Ghost: You've gone prying into business that is strictly between my Master and I, and neither of us are the type who forgive easily! As such, I would be left with but one option - !!! He landed on the ground again, and dropped his voice to a normal level once more. The shrine returned to its original dimness, and the fire went out. If Ghost didn't wear a mask, Schwa would have seen that he was smiling. Ghost: But I'll humor you by tangoing with you. Ghost waved his left hand, and the many unlit torches hung around the area magically lit up with fire. Ghost: Go on, test your might against me! Ghost drew out his shield and assumed a slightly crouched position, with his shield in front of him and his weapon held behind him, ready to be thrust forward for a counter-attack. |

| "Something's wrong," Schwa thinks. "Most Undead wouldn't act this way... Maybe I'm mistaken about him..." Schwa suddenly recieves a telepathic message directly from Sensae. "Remember that you are a very black and white thinker." Schwa stops short. "Wha? What the hell was THAT supposed to mean?" Schwa doesn't let his thoughts show much. He says to Ghost, "Okay. I haven't quite figured you out yet, but you can't be hardly a challenge for a Psi Warrior. Not YOU." Schwa begins battle! "Okay then! I'll handle you defensively. Go, Oracle Spirit Splicing Trick!!" Schwa pulls off his sneakiest technique early... Schwa flashes red four times, each time damaging himself slightly. And with each flash, a blue, etheral wisp of light appears by Ghost. Soon there are four blue wisps; they circle slowly around Ghost, never adding or reducing their distance from him. But they don't really do much more than that... "Attack me now, I dare you," Schwa challenges, giving the 'Bring it on' hand motion toward his foe... |

| Ghost stood up straight and stared confusedly at the floating wisps. Ghost: ... Ignoring them, Ghost prepared to cast a spell with his weapon, Doomsday, but stopped when he got no reaction from it. The reason was that it had just been used to steal a soul, and doing this leaves Doomsday powerless for quite a while. Ghost cursed this temporary disadvantage he was left with, and hung up his staffspear and his shield on his back. Ghost: Good news for you - you might just be able to survive a few minutes longer than I intended. Ghost instead held his hands out to his sides, and each sequentially flashed a dark blue color. Ghost had created Spirit Balls in his hands, and was prepared to throw them, but didn't have time in his turn, what with his weapon pooping out on him... |

| Schwa thinks, "So he hesitates to attack. Wonder if he knows the secret of the wisps? I better force him to counter." "C'mon, you scared to attack or what? Gyrowell Advance!!" (echo effects) Schwa thrusts one hand forward, and blue ether pours out and gathers into a sphere in the center of the room. Then the ball transforms into a blue glob of peculiar energy, which is rotating-- and pulling all things toward it with a small gravitational force except Schwa. Ghost should find it easy to resist this gravity pull, but it's meant to throw off the balance of the foe and projectiles a tad. "The more you hesitate, the harder it'll be to hit me," Schwa syas. But inside he thinks, "What am I doing? I should be completely anniahlating him! I forgot not to take it easy." |

| Ghost: Afraid to attack? Never. Ghost launched the first of his balls at Schwa. The spirit ball is charged with fire and spirit, and damages a foe in an odd way; it does fire damage to the body, but the spirit damage is dealt by completely ignoring all physical defenses. Getting hit by a spirit ball is about the equivalent of getting hit with a cannon ball, but maybe a little less intense. Ghost saw that his first attack was thrown off balance, and so threw his second ball after a moment of calculation for increased accuracy. He didn't seem to be trying very hard...but why? Doomsday still wasn't ready for spell casting yet... |

| Schwa smiles. "Hmhm..." With Gyrowell's effect, Schwa jumps out of the way of the first Ball, and as the second Ball comes close, Schwa purposefully dives in the way of the attack. His ether-coated fists go up to block, but the effect of the attack damages and surprises him. "Whoa! Your attacks penetrate defense AND are blocked by defense at the same time! Whoa-ho, this'll be quite an interesting mutation..." At this, one of the wisps surrounding Ghost activates! After scanning Ghost with a small, harmless beam, it begins to grow and change shape and texture... In 6 seconds, the Wisp has mutated into quite a strange creature; it's a blue jack-O-lantern with blue fire burning inside and dark red, glowing eyes. "Hm, indeed! You managed to mutate a Ghastly Pumpkin. Quite peculiar really, as it has a devestating version of the attack you just used on me. Man, I wonder what it's stats are?" Ghastly Pumpkin (counts as a summoned creature) turns and faces Ghost, grinning evilly. Worse, there are still three Wisps left... Schwa dashes in between Ghost and Gyrowell, firing a small barrage of weak energy rings (Holy/Psychic damage) toward Ghost during his run. He tries to get behind Ghost so Ghastly Pumpkin is on one side while Schwa's on the other. |

| Ghost regarded the Ghastly Pumpkin, not really knowing what to think. Ghost: What in blazes? Such a strange technique...why do you fight in such an indirect way? Ghost dodged a few of the holy energy rings, but still got hit by a number of them...he isn't very agile. The attacks hit him as if they were medium-powered attacks, not just low-powered ones, and he gasped in pain. Schwa passed behind Ghost unhindered. Ghost: Come on, now... He pulled out Doomsday and Wrathguard. Neither had any charge yet. However, the blue flame inside Ghost's staff was rekindling |

| "Indirect? Oh, sorry! I forgot I had to utterly destroy you with one shot. How unhonorable of me!" After Schwa's nose-thumbing comment, he switches to a fighter stance as Ghost makes his move. His ether-coated fists go up to block the blade... JUST as it passes through him... and just as Ghost makes his behind-swing! Schwa turns his head at the last second, giving him the "benefit" of being slashed across the eyes... which slices off his blindfold! " *gasp* OhmyGOD..." Schwa managed to get that in from the floor, as the blade slashed him to the floor. Sure, some ether went up around his eyes, but that didn't decrease any damage, all it did was prevent a cut, a minor help but that's it. But now Schwa is half-blind... and THEN some... Schwa's 'Psychic Senses' work oddly... Schwa is able to see EVERYTHING ten times clearer, but he can't visually see colors. He can tell what colors things are because he's psychic, but he's still colorblind when he's physically blind. Well not anymore! By removing the blindfold, Schwa sees EVERYTHING in bright colors. It scares him! "Ah! Ghost, how are you DOING this? Stop it!" Schwa does a backflip, still a little unnerved, to get away from Ghost. At the same time, Ghastly Pumpkin open's it's mouth and a Spirit Ball, with attack power 20% higher than Ghost's attack, is fired at Ghost. It's also fired like a pressure cannon in a fast, straight line. AND another Wisp is activating! Ghosts attack on Schwa triggered another Wisp to evolve. This one becomes a blue Praying Mantis, a little taller than Ghastly Pumpkin but not by much, with one huge scythe and one small scythe. The huge scythe is glowng dimly, and the Mantis (Inviso-Mantis) has the ability of phasing through anything at will... just like Ghost did when he attacked Schwa. "So now I have two allies, and soon I will have two more," Schwa mentions. "But these COLORS! They're awful!" |

| Ghost held up his shield at the incoming blast from the ghastly pumpkin, which completely absorbed the blow and took its energy for mana. Still, the force knocked him back a distance, dealing minor damage to his arm. Suddenly, Ghost's weapon exploded into a brilliant blue flame, then died down again, returning to its normal state. It seemed to be functioning again! Ghost: ...About time. Only... Ghost looked at the new summon, the Inviso-Mantis. Ghost: I'd love to kill you now with by best power, honorable warrior, but that'd make a wholesomely strong beast. So, Ghost swung his arm in a peculiar way, and his weapon spun around 180 degrees, so the staff end was pointing forward, and the spear backward. He aimed it at the ground, and shot an odd beam out of it, which formed into a bluish flat circle that floated slightly in the air. It stayed there for a few seconds, and then a nethworld hunter came out of it! A netherworld hunter is an 8 foot tall, black, cat-humanoid monster with a huge claw in one hand and a poisoned hook for the other. It is garbed in strangely...almost ancient Egyptian clothing (though it isn't). The hunter made a strange yowl at the sky, then turned to Schwa, ready to attack him. Meanwhile, Ghost made a simple quick double-slash combo with his spear at the Ghastly Pumpkin. |

| Schwa is still reeling from the sudden color presence. "Uh-oh, a summon. He's heading right toward me. Wha' do I do?" Ghastly Pumpkin, not being very quick, takes both hits and a slash opens across his side. He doesn't have a lot of stamina, and the combo had already taken over half it's HP. But the Pumpkin immediately fires another cannon-speed Spirit Ball, point-blank range, right at Ghost after being slashed. Inviso-Mantis deftly leaps, like a ninja, to protect Schwa from the Netherworld Hunter. He raises his large scythe and sweeps it horizontally across the Hunter's torso. The slash would do over average damage if it hit a foe with no serious armor, but it has no side-effects... Schwa also helps by firing a large sphere of Holy/Psychic energy at the Hunter from his palms. "Wait, you activated another Wisp." But Ghost attacked twice! However only one of the Wisps activates for some reason... evolving into a small, soldier-like being, completely covered with grey armor (though the armor is weak) and holding a staff-spear made of wood and iron. This creature (Combo Soldier) specializes in quick combos of weak attacks and is pretty agile. "Ah yes... The secret is to give each Wisp time to evolve before you attack again. Didn't you know? Ha ha!" |

| Since the ghastly pumpkin was so close to Ghost, he didn't have time to block the blow. It hit him, doing medium damage, but the fire/spirit charge didn't hurt him at all. Ghost kept his ground. Ghost: You're delaying my busy schedule, you know. Ghost switched to his staff again, and aimed it upward. Instantly, hundreds of tiny, gray wisps came out! At a close inspection, one would discover they were miniature skulls made of wind. They all divided into three groups and homed quickly into Schwa and the Combo Soldier. Individually, they dealt almost no damage, but together they were quite a threat. As a side effect, if a foe was hit enough times, they could get the status ailment 'confused' or 'dizzy'. Meanwhile, the slash was aimed pretty well at the hunter, as its torso was the thinnest, weakest part of its body. The hunter dodged Schwa's sphere attack by ducking nimbly, however, and sprung back up at the mantis, spinning quickly to hit it with its claw and poisoned hook in one move. |

| The Inviso Mantis simply phases through the Hunter, but that seems to put Schwa at the mercy of it's little combo. He ducks backward, and the claw nicks him minorly while the hook barely misses. "Yeah? Undeads don't HAVE schedules." Schwa does a frontflip over the Hunter to get behind it. He then notices Ghost's little skull attack... "Whuh-oh! Those things home in, so the Gyrowell should have no effect on 'em... Only one thing to do! Moonbeam of Stormbird!" (echo effects) Schwa holds his palms up, and the ether surrounding them becomes a deep purple. Four thin beams of purple light, two from each palm, fire out at the skulls aimed at him and stay consistent (not a pulse, flashlight-style). These beams have the effects of eroding just about any form of energy, though the more complex the energy is, the harder it dissolves (such as Oracle energy). Schwa tries to sweep the four thin beams slowly across the skulls aimed at him to dissolve them all. Since they're small, they should go easily compared to something bigger (like a full sized energy shield, for example). Combo Soldier tries slashing at the skulls aimed at him with the spear, but it doesn't affect them much and he's hit by nearly all of them. It knocks him half-unconscious, as the Dizzy effect had worked on him. Ghastly Pumpkin fires at Ghost again from where he's sitting. And the 4th Wisp activates, having studied the hits Ghost got on Combo Soldier. It becomes some metallic, bone-grey sphere, with no face but many cannon-like holes on all sides. "Whoa! You hit with a skull attack and THIS is what appears? Oh, I know what those cannons do!" Schwa chuckles... |

| Ghost faded to avoid the spirit ball shot at him from the pumpkin. Oddly, when the blue ball passed through him, it turned red, having been deprived of its spirit charge; the spirit attack had hit Ghost, though it still didn't hurt him. The normal fireball crashed into a wall. Many of the little skulls heading for Schwa were taken out, but there were still a few left that tried to avoid the beams, and they continued to fly toward him. Ghost: Actually, I do have much to do, and you are really getting on my nerves by hindering me here. No more games now, your wisps are all finished! Ghost: Celestial Rage!!! Out of the night sky, a storm of HUGE comets appeared, heading straight for the battle! This was a very powerful attack that would deal Light, Cosmic, Fire, and Spirit damage (as well as physical, of course) to all it hit. It is also extremely hard to dodge, so the summons are all likely to be destroyed...including the hunter, since the attack damages everyone. This took about all of Ghost's mana... Before the comets hit, Ghost phased out and fell through the ground, completely out of sight, leaving everyone else to fend for themselves...the storm would last half of a minute. |

| Schwa is pelted with a few of the skulls, mostly unharmed. He's got the color issue under control now, when he notices Ghost make a monstro-sized attack... He looks up. "No way... Ghost, you're no normal Undead, are you?" Schwa thinks for a moment before the storm hits, for a way to protect himself. He comes up with a solution. "Summoned friends! I want you to do your best and fend off any meteors that come directly toward me. If they're a little off, don't worry about them. Now go!" The four creatures nod and stand ready. Schwa makes his next maneuver. "Plasmatech Barrier!" (echo effects) Out of an invisible portal above Schwwa fly hundreds of tiny, tiny blue etheral ribbons. They fly and srround Schwa, wrapping him up in a perfect coccoon. None of Schwa's body is visible anymore. The meteors strike! The four summoned creatures launch attacks at any meteors that fly directly towards Schwa, and then, one at a time, sacrifice themselves to finish off those meteors. Soon there are none left, but one last meteor exists and is falling for a direct hit, without any way for Schwa to protect himself. So... ...Schwa takes one direct hit! The physical damage is even higher than normal, as Schwa can't bring up protective ether in his current state, but the Cosmic, Light, Spirit and Fire damage is all reduced, thanks to Plasmatech Barrier. The meteor bursts upon contact with the coccoon and, though it can't be determined by appearance for now, it's clear that Schwa took a BIG hit for the team. 10 seconds after the storm is over, the ribbons fly off Schwa and gather above his head into a huge white ball of light. Schwa is breathing hard, and he stares at Ghost (after Ghost remerges from the ground). "See this ball? It contains ALL the raw attack power from any elemental-based damage I would've recieved without defending. Yes, I took a major hit from the physical aspect of your meteor, but because the majority of the attack was elemental, well... basically YOU just sealed your own fate. "I could simply throw this sphere at you at a fast speed and defeat you... OR I could absorb this sphere and gain incrediable mana. When I engaged you as a foe, I had the intentions of destroying you in one hit. You're Undead, after all, and I'm a Psi Warrior. Therefore, that would be common. But... something now tells me I shouldn't play so offensively against you. I have no idea why, as my natural Psi Warrior instincts SCREAM at me to destroy, destroy. But no, this is different... "Ghost, I ask you in a completely honorable and respectful way... What is this 'schedule' you speak of? You obviously are no ordinary spirit." The sphere of light still floats above Schwa's head, waiting either to be absorbed by Schwa or flung at Ghost. OOC: Wow, your'e good. - ^,^ - |

| (The netherworld hunter was defeated in the comet storm.) Ghost violently reappeared from the ground and returned to his solid state, sort of gasping in a way, and fell to the ground again. He held himself up, exhausted from the last attack he made, and was really at Schwa's mercy for the time. | A long pause later, Schwa speaks. "I see. Let me have a quick word with Sensae for a moment..." He turns half around, and telepathically contacts Sensae. "Okay Sensae, so you say I'm a black and white thinker. I think it's time you told me what that means. What's Ghost's deal?" "All I say is this. Just because he is an Undead... does NOT necessarily mean he's Evil." "WHAT!!? That... totally goes against everything you've ever taught me!" "Does it really? Are you sure?" "Never mind. I'll deal with him the Psi Warrior way." "You'll never defeat him if you don't respect him." Half ignoring the last of Sensae's comments, Schwa truns back around and brings his hands up. "Okay... I choose to absorb the energy from Plasmatech Barrier!" The ball decends into Schwa's body, and his whole body becomes coated in brilliant, rainbow-colored ether. He's supercharged! All attacks are stronger and some can be performed without charging up first. "All Evils can be put to an end. NOTHING can change that! After I finish you, I will move on to your master and defeat him... that is, if your plan evven succeeds! Now, fight me and fight well!" |
