Dose anyone think its ever going to be posible to put enemys from smb3 in to smw? Cause that would be awsome.
Alastor the Stylish Hey! I made a cool game! It's called "I poisoned half the food, so if you eat you might die!" Have a taco. Level: 114 Posts: 285/7620 EXP: 16258468 For next: 51099 Since: 03-15-04 From: Oregon, US Since last post: 2 hours Last activity: 2 hours |

Of course it's possible. All you have to do is hack certain enemies out to free up room, and code how you want the new enemies to act in ASM, then rip and import the graphics files.

Chances are you can even add them without removing other enemies. You just have to expand the ROM again and make a new section for enemy programming which I'd assume is 100x more difficult than a new block... but I could be wrong and it might be on a similar plane of difficulty. I don't do ASM so I wouldn't know for sure.

Sprite hacking is almost completely uncharted territory. We need to fully dissect the sprite engine before we can go off coding our own enemies. A few small steps have been made (over on the old board), but there's still a long way to go.

Ok i was just wondering, cause id like to see enemys like the boomerang bros put in to mario world and many smb3 enemys are already in smw but like i said monsters like that would be cool even the old hammer bros would be cool, dont you think?

Even though I know practically nothing of ASM, it shouldnt be hard to make classic Hammer Brothers. 1. Change Rex GFX to hammer brothers. 2. Code "Hammer Throwing" from current Hammer Brothers 3. Code walking back and forth somehow Yeah. Thats how I would do it, if I knew how. |

In my first hack I had fire breathing goombas. I hate those dino-rhino GFX with a passion.

Actually I enjoy Mario 3 far better than SMW but SM3 editors are all a pain in the ass to use. Somebody needs to figure out how to customize the enemies. ASM is beyond me although it becomes more and more appealing to learn as time goes on. Mini-boss Chuck is about as far as spirit editing goes aside from making some move faster. I would like to be able to get SMB3 enemies, but in all probability it won |

This is like...the 18th time this has been discussed. My opinion on sprite editiing: NO....well, okay, expect SOMETHING in about 20 years or less. |

Well, there's an SMB3 editor with support for SMAS' SMB3 part, and there's an editor for SMW...
