For the yearly band trip. I'll be in the Baltimore area mostly, catching the Orioles/Tampa Bay game on sunday.

More details to come, obviously after it happens. I don't really know much about the itineray, but maybe Grey can fill in some stuff.

Rightho, Grey's gonna tell you all what happened.

So, we do this thing where we get on a bus, and we drive. We stopped in New York, New Jersey, Philedelphia, and finally in Maryland. We went to a special clinic where our musical styles were analyzed and commented on: Apparently we were playing one of our songs a touch too slow. We pushed up the tempo and cranked up the volume, and man, was it intense!

Ha...... I forgot all of my music, though.... ALL of it. Couldn't pull out a baritone solo on one of our ajudicated pieces, but that's ok. I only started playing the instrument five days ago.

Anyway, we hit up the hotel, get our rooms straight, and proceed to stay up until about three AM. My particular room's neighbors (I didn't room with Tox) had a pair of Xboxes, and with a little engineering by one of my roommates, we managed to get a LAN going and played some Halo. Not bad, considering how much I dislike Halo.

Day two saw one hell of a lot of events. 6:15 wakeup call, and we're out the door at the finest eating establishment in the country: The Old Country Buffet. That said, I broke my spree of vegetarianism (more about that later) and decided to chow down.

We hit the judgement spot, play our music, and I nearly break into tears cause I'm afraid I screwed the band over so much by forgetting my music. I was playing all of my Jazz pieces from memory. More on THAT later, too.

We're out: Off to Six Flags for a few hours. I play DDR and meet a really cool girl from Michigan, ride about six rollercoasters, and have a grand old time before we go to a neato awards ceremony. Crazily enough, the Jazz band ran away with first place and a superior rating out of the six schools that competed. I guess it wasn't so bad after all. Post awards ceremony saw me and my band teacher and a few other people back at the arcade at Six Flags, and we're all frantically playing Skee-ball, trying to get enough tickets together in the half hour left that the park had before it closed to buy my band director's mentally disabled daughter a large stuffed animal. The efforts of me and about five other people pulled together over 900 tickets, and we get her a really good one. Good deed for the day.

Next day's Washington DC. I kicked several people's asses at the Jefferson Memorial, got shocked by the sheer number of names on the walls of the Vietnam memorial, and got my family some souveniers. We went to an Orioles game, I wandered around and played Pokemon Red, and then it's off to dinner.

Dinner was at a place called Cactus Willie's. Or, it would have been, if the place weren't a filthy shithole of a restaurant. We dressed up for it, too. So much for that. Back to the Old Country Buffet, where I come to one seriously awesome revelation, and convince one of the female members of the band that my friend Kevin is hung like a rhinocerous. Which he is, I'll assume. It's better than not being, anyway.

Last day is Inner Harbor, I go shopping, buy manga, watch Star Wars, and come home, happy to see my mother and happy to be reborn. I'm ready to have some fun.

So yeah, that's my trip. Toxic can give his account later on if you really want to know. All in all, I gotta say, being a senior and being a member of this band for the last four years has been really great, and this is just one big reason why I needed to relax. I was so happy to be me again this weekend, and I'm glad that I had so much fun.

And you all need to see the Washington Monument at least once in your lives. And the Jefferson Memorial. They're amazing places. Truly, truly amazing.

Um, Grey, are you like, posting something that Toxic typed? Or are you in Toxic's band? Because if the latter is true, I am totally surprised and never knew that

Kef, I live in the same town as Toxic, and see him every day. We're in the school band together and went on this trip. I used to be in his section until I switched instruments. That was from me. He may put in his own input later.
