Use either YY-CHR or TLP. I prefer YY-CHR

for the GFX in LM, I reccomend the built in tile editor

Edit: unless you are ripping from a game, or copying from another GFX file

Blech. Why anyone would still use TLP, even when Tile Molester is available and is intended to be TLP's successor, is beyond me.

I personally use YY-CHR, which is the most stable tile editor ever released, aside from maybe the original Tile Layer. For really tough/unusual jobs, I use Bounty Tile Molester, due to its rather extensive list of supported formats.

When I was still actually using TLP, it was mainly for copying between files. Sure, you can do that in YY-CHR, too, but it's a little bit more work that way. But really, Tile Molester is my editor of choice. It just needs a couple more options that YY-CHR (such as importing palettes from savestates) has and I can completely eliminate YY-CHR from my routine.

WTF? I try to open a BIN file (extracted from Lunar magic) in YY-CHR but it comes up as a pixelled mess. Am I doing something wrong?
To tell you the truth, my ambition is to change the Mario sprite, and maybe some other things.

TLP is less confusing. Use it instead. I do!

Nice double post, Darkflight

If you hand draw graphics, I'd actually suggest YY-CHR.

I only do rips, so TLP is easier for me.

It's a bug that needs fixing =/

oh, and skateboarder11, nice signature. Where did you get that trendy 40x15px button? Everyone should put that in their signatures. It's trendy.

No I don't. I tell people a lot of things, but to stay on-topic isn't one of them.

And it IS a bug that needs fixing.

And I told him to put that in his sig, anyway

I figured it out, wrong format.
Mario has too many poses, add to that a confusing pallette that wont even be fixed by importing and you have suicide.
Oh well...*draws SMB3 leaf better than Leonardo Da Vinci could ever do*
*draws a few other things*

Yeah, use YY-CHR i do!, you don't get far with FUCKING TLP. It's an udder piece of shit that should be trashed into hell for the plenty reasons in which it crashes often and is the worst i've ever used!. The only thing i find any good which YY-chr unfortunatly doesn't have is exporting the palette as the .tlp format which u can use in LM but .pal no.
