| Watching the Discovery Channel the other day, and saw something interesting. Wouldn't have a clue on how old it was though. Saw a rubbish tip/dump, and they set up this thing where water gets mixed with minced rubbish, then is burned while under pressure, The end result is oil and carbon chalk. The used water gets recycled and goes through again. It's even done with sewage waste. |

| Yes, it is what some people use as a basis for saying that "oil is a renewable resource after all, see?" Well, it's not the same friggin type of oil we are talking about!!! <---what I want to say to them Yea, burning biomass and garbage is a way to get power. It would still have greenhouse gas emissions (and possibly a few other respiratory irritants in some cases), but not quite as much as petroleum-based gasoline. They also take methane from landfills to have on-site power plants. |
