Here's the thing:
I have a CD Burner (it's old, but meh), and if I go in "My Computer", I see the drives, there's E: (CD-Rom Drive, and it aknowledges it as a CD-Rom Drive), then there's D: (which is supposed to be my CD Burner, it even says CD-RW drive). But the thing is that when I go in properties, it says it's a CD-ROM drive, when it cleary is a Cd Burner.

So, what the heck do I do? DO I try and find the drivers again?

(Again, I'm using WinXP SP2)

Edit: When I need it, too.

Edit 2: Or sometimes, It'll say that there are no CD in the drive, when there are. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not the CDs that are at fault.

Can you burn CDs with that writer in applications like Nero ?
Also ensure, you have ASPI installed on your system.

If the problem comes back and forth, check the connectors about loose cables or simply unplug the CD-RW, start your computer, shut it down and replug it again.
Usually, these drives should work even without drivers (and Windows XP also has a lot of drivers included already). Then you still can try to apply the drivers manually.
