...since I had my Eagle Board of Review...highest rank in Boy Scouts earned that day. Man, that was nerve-wracking. Got a bunch of old guys in front of me, asking question after question after question. Some friendly, some technical, some very serious about my character and judgement. It's an honour nobody wants to deny, but also one nobody wants to just hand out to just anyone who's been around and stockpiled merit badges & did requirements. And they finished their questioning, and sent me away for awhile, where they discuss whether the 17-year old me, high-on-adrenaline yet well-meaning, deserved the honour. And I got it...19 Apr 1999...six years ago today...four years after the Oklahoma City Bombing.

And then came the day after. Tuesday, April 20th, 1999. Felt on-top-of-the-world that day...did great on a quiz, rocked in chem lab...and m' friends finally pushed me to talk to this girl I had a paralysing crush on...she knew...she was blushing...so was I...I got turned down. Things kinda balance out, sorta. Not really. Felt like hell. Rode the bus home...get there...m' older brother's glued to the TV...watching the horror play out in Littleton, Colorado. Columbine. He told me I needed to sit down and watch. I told him I was in no mood for a tragedy, and departed for the public library.

Kinda funny how this stuff happens. That a block of certain days plays a significance in one's life, for one reason or another. We remember it, yet, can't really feel the length of passed time. It certainly doesn't feel like it's been six years since then, let alone ten since Oklahoma City. Strange how life seems to pass us by...yet, we haven't forgotten. I've been told that as the years go by, they go faster. Ramjet Theory in action (the faster I go, the faster I go). And in nine years, will I still be as surprised about how much time has passed? I dunno. I'll find out then.

ooh...an eagle scout--purdy nice. I was in the Boy Scouts for about two years--two years that didn't amount to much of anything. I wish I did put more effort into it back then...

as for weird stuff happening on dates--things for me seem to happen around March 17 every year. Last few years it's been played down to trivial matters but when I was younger i'd have drama

This is really intellectual...
Anyhow, It walways seems like heavy things in our society, or personal lives only happen withing short periods of time. It's quite strange, huh.
