the whole "run a decent speed" thing really depends on your computer; and little to none gfx problems are iffy. But your best bet is PJ64 1.6 [project 64]. It really hasn't given me too many problems, and can play most games I try, sometimes with some errors but usually not.

Yeah, make sure you get Version 1.6 though.

Corn is damn fast, and graphics seem good enough to play at least. My computer sucks at 3D but the graphic problems I see with it are also in all the other emulators.

Well, the only 2 good N64 emulators that I know of are Project 64, as Setzer mentioned, and one called 1964 which takes out some, not all, of the bugs that PJ64 has. Also, I've never heard of the emulator Corn before, HH. What type of CPU does it run on? I might try it and test it out. |

Corn is the fastest by far, but doesn't have a lot of compatibility (came out in 2000 and got discontinued) ... I still had fun trying it back then since it was the only one that ran decently (around 100% speed or close) on my old Pentium-MMX 200MHz, everything else was just too slow and glitchy for any serious playing But the one I use now is Project 64, any fairly recent computer (last few years) should have no problem at all running it |

Check out PJ64k. It's basically just P64 with Network support added. I succefully ran SSB on it. And played it against someone, althought it's so tricky to control with a keyboard. Edit: Woah, I didn't notice that they released a new version of PJ64. And I thought the N64 emulation scene was dead... (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 06-07-05 01:53 PM) |

I use PJ64 also, it really runs good on my brother's PC with no problems at all, so I'd say stick with this emulator too.

I agree with Kitten Yiffer, and Kasper, PJ64 is really good, and so is PJ64k. Another emulator that I've heard is good is UltraHLE. |

Ooh, PJ64 1.6 is nice. Faster and more accurate. I can get a lot of things to run perfectly without sound now.

I'd normally say that PJ64 is the best, but if you take a plugin from it and give it to 1964, 1964 is kinda better...

I used PJ64, but ever since it gave me "Unable to allocate memory" errors (which none of the solutions on PJ64's homepage really hlelped with) I've stopped using it. It worked really well when I did have to use it, though... and it seems to be updated often enough. |
