and i was too tired to keep programming. i think my only choice was an obvious one: i climbed my roof.

i was going to climb higher, but my neighbor was giving me weird looks. snapped off a quick photo with my phone before i jumped off the roof. tuck and roll, grandma.

Wow. You live in a nice part of town.

If I had the ability to climb in my roof, I would. Especially with that kind of open sky. Must be great at night with all the stars out...

What the fuck...have I been there? Where is that...what the fuck...deja vu; I'm going insane now.

And last time I did something like that was either to fix an antenna problem by climbing a 20-foot tower of it (which sucked because I only needed to go to the roof), when I was fixing the roof (not fun), and/or when I was up on top of the barn of my old house when I was fixing THAT roof (again, not fun). Nice views in the country they were...I'll give it that...but that was before the parental divorce on my end, which sucked as well.

Damn, some of the negative things you remember for a good view.

It looks like any american home I see in video games, I mean. We don't have thoose strange walkways beside our roads.

Nice photo anyway... and no, I hadn't been on my roof. *looks on his window* althought I could climb out there.

Here we call them "sidewalks", but usually they're right next to the road...

That doesn't look like a cell phone image though =/

YES! I SWEAR I'm the only one that says "Tuck and roll, grandma!" anyomre. You just made my day, Gavin

sidenote: BTW, did you get that from that commercial a few years back about the kid who's driving his grandma to the nursing home and pushes her out and says that so he can get back to play more XBox? That's where I got it...

Wow, Edward Scissorhands neighbourhood! Everything looks....perfect! And whats that...sidewalks on BOTH sides of the street ! And they are white! Wow.

Here, we have ugly grayish-white sidewalks that are only on one side of the road (about 2 meters...ummm 6 feet? from the road), and our grass is like always dead. You live in an awesome looking place! Nice pic by the way. Pretty clear for a camera phone shot!

That looks like typical American suburbia.

My street's normal, but without all that green space. :\ Maybe I'll snap a picture during the week - albeit NOT from the roof. Never head up there.

And yes, seems like quite a nice place, kinda like the non-city parts of Vancouver (Washington).

Nice neighborhood. I'm in a near suburb of Seattle, so it's not so clean and simple.

i've never actually been outside the US or given the mailing infrastructure of other countries much thought and didn't realize our mailboxes were somewhat of a peculiarity . What do you guys have instead of our mailboxes?

And yes, an all-american suburbia type area. In some ways it's tough living in an area where everything is so sheltered and removed from whatever relative reality a greater deal of the population lives in. Oh dear, list to me. After that comment i better go grab my emo glasses and write a song about it .

(edit, forgot to respond)

Well, I live in the States, but at our house, the mailboxes are fixed to the house right by the front door. The mailman has to walk to each house and deliver the mail that way. I also know that in some places, there's just a mail slot in the door that the mailman puts the mail in.

I live in a bungalow and my neighbours are used to seeing me on my roof reading.
