in germany(i'm living in austria but i can get tv from germany trough sattelite) there's a tv show called comeback show. in this show old stars like emilia limahl coolio weather girls and others want to win through good singing(covers from other singers). last time i really didn't know what to say because coolio covered a song from nirvana! sounded very odd, but cool. i didn't even know that coolio can sing?!? i only wanted to share that with you.

Wasn't Coolio the one that did "Gangsta's Paradise?" or was that somebody else.

There is no comparison; Nirvana would lay the smackdown on Coolio (provided Cobain was still alive ) (edited by Clockworkz on 03-30-04 04:14 PM) |

I know the truth behind Kurt's death! His wife was jealous... She injected him with 5x the leathal amount of heroine then shot him in the head with a shotgun. How do I know this? If you injected even 2x the lethal amount of heroine into your body, you'd be so disoriented to know what a gun even is. Secondly, YOU try reaching the side of your head with a big ol' shotgun. Thirdly, the shell was on the side of his jacket opposite the shell discharge port on a shot gun. How'd it get there? Oh, yea... He was MURDERED! |

I would say that Coolio doesn't have the artistic integrity to cover such a revolutionary song, but then again, the song was only revolutionary because it threw the conventions of music out the window.

I say leave them where they lay. If coolio is not popular anymore, that means the public does not enjoy his music anymore, and should just resign himself to that fact, just like any other singer/celebrity. Me personally i loved Gangsta's paradise. And the Weird Al parody of it. About Teenage spirit, it was probably the most influentual song of the 90's, but i liked the "On Utero" better than "Whatever" |
