Did parasyte ever finish his Metroids Ruin Hack?

I waited 2 years for the Final Fantasy Zero hack, and it never saw the light of day.

Is this project dead too?

Where is it? Sitting on my HDD.
Why is it not finished? Not enough interest, nor free time.
Will it ever be finished? Maybe...
When? By the time hell freezes over, I suppose!

It's one of those projects that I just can't give much attention to, or the thrill really wears off quickly. There's such a daunting amount of work that needs to be done. So far, the project is at a stand-still because this whole "rewrite 50% of the game" stuff isn't really interesting or fun.
For example, the level drawing routines are so slow that it causes many problems with my status bar. In fact, you can even see the problems it causes in an original copy of the game, just by falling down a shaft. (Notice the random "different colors" that certain pieces of the wall and platforms get when falling? That's from the slow room render code!) So that has to be completely rewritten... (all code, and level data formats much change)
The hack uses CHR-ROM, while the original uses CHR-RAM. So all of the tile data must be stripped from PRG and placed into CHR. Then the PPU commands must be rewritten to accomodate the changes. (I've already rewritten the tile loading code. Now I just need to rewrite all of the calls to the routine (probably about 50 or 60 of those))
THEN I have to rewrite the entire scroll engine to allow for 8-way scrolling; finally finish up the powerbomb code; add the other planned weapons and upgrades and such; rewrite a lot of the samus handling routines to allow for better control, diagonal shooting, better bomb jumping control, etc; work on a few "special effects" things here and there; write a new level editor to work with the rewritten level data format; design some new levels and graphics; piece it all together and call it complete. So as you can see, this hack is not getting finished any time soon.

Well, if your talkin'bout Vystrix Nexoth's FFC hack, my guess is the project is dead too. That FF hack in my opinion was the best FF hack I ever saw. The 2 pics that'll stay in my mind was one pic that showed the world map screen with an awsome looking font & the other pic where your walking through a dark forest & you see eyes popping out all over the place.

Yeah, FFC was retired officially about 6 months ago.
