I was Thinking: 'what did Nintendo fail to prevent that is still lurking in SMW un notaced by MKers(the site)?' So I decided to start a Thread on the glitches. 1) Mario's hat slides to the left when 'peacing' on Yoshi after the Lv Outro.(obvious) 2) If Mario grabs a key, against a 'Solid coin' and lands on Yoshi at the same time, Mario will hold the key AND ride yoshi!! 3) If you kick a shell one or less tiles away from a wall, at the wall, Mario will not be hurt. There's 3, post more. |

don't forget that when you slide into one of Iggy Koopa's balls, it will turn into this weird sprite and fall off the screen. | |||

I guess you could say that the ability to pick up more than 1 item at a time could be a glitch. Also the ability to kill some enemies (mainly the spike balls on a chain) with a star will make them into a weird sprite that falls off screen. (Is it possible to have a star in a castle??). And this isn't a glitch for SMW, but for almost all hacks it is. The original game only fades out half of the palettes at the end of the game. So alot of backgrounds in hacks look really bad when they fade out. We still need a fix for this..... |

Originally posted by ZTaimat That isn't a glitch. Nintendo programmed it that way intentionally. Cause back in SMB1 it didn't work that way and that led to the 1-up glitch on those stairs in world 3. |

A lot of so-called glitches aren't really programming mistakes at all, just things Nintendo didn't care about because they didn't apply. For example, the palette fade-out at the end of a level only fading half the colours was written to do exactly that, because Nintendo only used those colours. Games aren't designed to be hacked, so if it's impossible to trigger a bug in the original game, they don't bother fixing it. |
