I have many favorites, so I'll just pick my current top four for this thread. In no particular order:

Katamari Damacy - Lonely Rolling Star (a pretty, catchy song that amuses me because, due to the singers' accents, I couldn't tell it was in English at first)

Dark Cloud - Divine Beast Cave (relaxing and vaguely Spanish-sounding)

Dynasty Warriors 3 - Winning (the simple yet catchy, addictive, and asskicking-inspiring electric guitar song that plays when your morale is high...they brought it back for DW5 along with a return to a pretty much 100% hard rock soundtrack, which makes me a very happy person)

Final Fantasy Tactics - Run Past Through the Plain (lush, beautiful inspiration for asskicking, orchestral style)

Gotta pick four, huh?

1. Mega Man 2- Dr. Wily Stage 1. Oh come on, there's a reason it's so over-covered in the VG cover scene.

2. Metroid- Kraid. See above, basically. For the Dwelling of Duels Metroid Month, I was one of many who chose to cover it. The fact I couldn't learn the "runs" on bass in time still annoys me.

3. Ys- Final Battle. Really, just about EVERY song in Ys I & II for the Duo rocks your face in. I'm picking this one pretty much at random, but this game had to be in there.

4. F-Zero GX- Story Mode Credits Theme (Our Hero, I think it's called). A current favorite of mine, basically just cheesy goodness. I covered this for the recent DoD free month just to have fun. The best part was receiving FOUR comments on my "terrible guitar tone".

I've also got a large list of favorites, so it's going to be hard to give a top anything for me, but I'll name a few off from PS2 OSTs:

Makai Senki Disgaea [TSUNAMI BOMB] - The Invasion Within :: Bottom line, kickass. For being in an SRPG, this one takes the cake even though it's maybe used twice in the game.

Kingdom Hearts [Yoko Shimomura] - Having a Wild Time :: You'll hear this in Deep Jungle when you go against pretty much anything normal. One heck of a driving track. Wakes me up anyways.

La Pucelle: Tactics [Tenpei Sato] - Heroes :: Pretty decent track, you'll hear this in a few places in the game, Cave of Trials mostly, I liked it...probably one of the main reasons I got the OST and the AST.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses [KONAMI, not really sure what else] - Intro Movie :: Best eye-catch theme ever. Hands down. Horribly underrated game.

That's all I'm listing, I've got a ton more, but those are the only ones coming to me at the moment.

I'll pick four for now but don't be surprised if I post another four... and another four... and yeah. This post's theme: SNES.

Chrono Trigger - Corridors of Time: One of my favorite RPG tracks of all time. From the moment I heard it when I first played through the game on the old SNES... just wow. I love the mystic, epic feel the theme has. (99% of you probably know the theme so I won't go any further.)

Mega Man X - Spark Mandrill: I dunno... this rock track just seems to have the right mix of Mega Man-ness in it. It feels like something Capcom would put out and now I need to check and see if there's a cover of this somewhere by someone. :\

Secret of Mana - Give Love Its Rightful Time: Otherwise known as the Mana Fortress theme. And now you all know one of the first themes I would literally pause a game for just to listen to. To be honest, it's surprisingly upbeat for a final dungeon theme. (So who the hell thought of the NAME for the track?)

Seiken Densetsu 3 - Decision Bell: The whole Seiken Densetsu III soundtrack is a pretty solid piece of work, but Decision Bell is a nice soothing theme, with a nice flute theme accompanied by, obviously, the chime of a bell. Suits the game perfectly.

I have the sound track of Sonic 3 & Knuckles but I used the sound tester or what the hell it was called in the game to record my favorite music.

You had to do something special in Sonic 3 to get it working, though.

I record it as wav and then convert it to Mp3.

I love game music, there's so many great songs I can't pick too many favorites, I'm just gonna list some off the top of my head that I love. Starting with the ever loved Mega Man series soundtrack of course.

Mega Man 7 Intro Level: One of my favorite Mega Man songs, though I'm a fan of many of the songs in 7 actually, so I won't go listing them all. Still, this one is awesome and in the beginning of the game too!
Mega Man 7/8 Bass/Forte's Theme: Yes, I'm listing the US names yet I listed both names for Bass/Forte, mostly because I like the japanese one better and it's easier to attach 's to.
Mega Man 8 Boss Battle: Can't think of much to say about this really...
All the other Mega Man 8 songs: Okay, I'm a big fan of the soundtrack...
Mega Man Battle Network 2 Gospel Server: Another favorite Mega Man series song here, a mix of the main theme, with a cool you're near the end type mix and of course it's own part. Kinda short however, like 34 seconds long.

I'm having trouble thinking of anything elser with all this MM8 music in my head, I guess I'll repost later, but I'm gonna atleast give mention to Jun Senoue and Crush 40, of Sonic Adventure 1/2/Heroes "fame".

All music from F-Zero, F-Zero X and Bianca City from F-Zero MV. From F-Zero GPL, I'd pick Mute City, Big Blue, Sand Ocean, Lightning and Illusion. Id pick absolutely none from GX, though Phoenix and Billy's theme songs are cool, and from F-Zero ClimaX I'd only pick Big Blue.

I didn't convert it or anything, my MegaDrive is just sitting there and running, playing its sounds.

Game music in my opinion makes up about 35% of the entire game's score. It kicks ass just listening to 'em sometimes.
I can play all of these on the piano.

1 - Super Castlevania 4 [Belmont's Theme]
2 - Secret of Mana [Fortress Theme (not to be confused with the Mana Fortress Theme.)]
3 - Megaman 3 [Title Screen Music]
4 - Legend of Mana [Legend of Mana Theme... The one that plays when the prologue is goin' on]

Good stuff!

My favorite video game music, let's see...

1. From Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Hedgemaze Mayhem level.

2. From Super Mario World 2, boss music for Baby Bowser.

3. From Zelda 3 A Link to the Past, boss music that's at the end of each dungeon.

4. From Final Fantasy X, I think the song was called Another World or something like that, same boss music as when you fight your father when inside Sin.
