I think we have this book in our library. I remember that another class read it during some lessons.

Collection book?

100 to 200 pages. Depends on edition and which book in the series. If you've got the white pocket book with the astronaut on the cover, that's the swedish pocket collection. There's also the older hardcover red or blue collection ones.

Most collections also come with the short story "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe". So, that could make it like 6 books or something.

I have the english omnibus edition which includes "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe", but it's never, to my knowledge, been translated into swedish, so it's not in the swedish pocket version.

I'm looking for these books, I really want to read them. The trailer looks pretty cool.
There are 6 books in the American version?

Is there also a chance to see this trailer in higher resolution? I mean, it looked ok, but that just was too few px for 1280x1024...

I read four out of five books in German some years ago (three or four of them, probably), the one I read in English was "So long, and thanks for all the fish"... and I liked it. Although the fifth book was sorts of disappointing for me

The "sixth book" isn't a book in the series - it's the short story (or "novella") "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe". YZPS is chronologically a prequel due to Zaphod being "young" in the short story and several hundred (200?) years old in the first book, but it really doesn't tie into the story in the "trilogy books" at all other than a fleeting mention of the Earth's galactic position and the use of Zaphod.

Douglas Adams has acknowledged that the fifth book was a "bleak" one and says it's because 1992, in which he wrote it, just sucked for him.

Well now, I've shown the trailer to the folks at home, and they are quite impressed. As I type this, there's twenty days left, not counting any delay until it's released locally.

I may be a hoopy frood, 'cept when I'm on the Janx Spirit, that is.

However, for this conversation to keep going, I needs to reread the books, because I realize I quite simply don't remember much any more.

The premise of that review is that it can only be good if it includes every little detail from the book, which is impossible. I see the movie as an adaptation of the core story which, when it comes down to details, has differed wildly in every single version ever (the exception was the radio scripts in book form; Douglas Adams has written that this consistency has made him uneasy and that he went out of his way to write an intro that would flatly contradict everything else to stay true to form). From this trailer alone, we can see that the spirit is largely the same as the original humor. I see absolutely no reason for this movie to drop below 'good', even if it might not be 'great'.
