DAV, ASM isn't a program, it's a programming language. You have to learn it. However, i find it extremely difficult to learn.

I'm not sure what exactly this Emu8086 is, but it sounds like an x86 emulator. This won't do you any good; the SNES uses 65816, not x86.

If you want to do asm for snes games, get either asm2hex, xkas, or wla dx. There may be some others designed to work with 65816, but I'm not sure. and if they have a different name they are usually an older version of the aforementioned assemblers.

asm2hex is pretty straightforward but you need to look at the examples that come with it to get the syntax, b/c there is absolutely (I mean absolutely) no documentation on it. In fact, I'm not even really sure who wrote it. And there are two known zipfiles that contain asm2hex. Let me know if you need either.

Xkas has documentation and quite a bit more directives as well. But people don't always need more features. Some people like simplicity (me).

Wow, good job. You can make fun of someone who clearly doesn't understand something. Here's a medal.

oh btw I should mention that all the assemblers above are for DOS. So in regards to getting a "windows" gui assembler for 65816, I don't know of any that exist.

Using that logic, I'm not even born yet. Leave him be. Don't want to start a flame war.

That's ok, I'll tell Hyperhacker!

I told him about how you are mocking poor DAV! That is so low of you! He PM'd me a couple of times. He's a good person, but not the kind of person who would take being poked fun at. Me, I can take it. But him, no. He doesn't like it one bit.

I don't think Davallar would be made fun of if he learns how to type cohertently. Sure, we woun't poke as much fun to him if he was from another country or something, but he has never given us indication that he is. Also, he appears not to read anything. If he was apparently smart enough, he would search around and find out that ASM isn't a program to use. That being said, I say we can poke as much fun to him as we want until he give us reason to not do otherwise.

Christ, he's older than me by seven months, and I'm not going around asking for "asms". At least I look before I ask (and type coherently).

Are you saying smart people are BETTER than those who are not as such? Is that it? Real good reason, real good.

Wow, a mod should lock this thread before this goes out of control.

DAVLLAR isn't a bad person, ya know. Sure, he needs more work with his grammar, english and spelling, but otherwise he's just a novice hacker with lots of questions, and we should try to answer them... or at least point him towards the stickies that contains the information he needs.

PS: I'm 23.
