I actually made some Metroid Fusion GFX. I'll post it when I get a chance though. I'm gonna be really busy nowadays, because school is coming up. I'll try to post it soon.

(Yay; first post! ^^)

Seems you stated this is a thread for discussion of ExGFX, I'm guessing I can post my problem here?

Alright, I've followed the tutorial on the first post instructing how to insert the ExGFX files into my level, and when I press F3 to load the GFX to the 16x16 tileset, it looks fine. But when I close the level and re-open it, or if I play it in an emulator, the GFX are scrambled as if I hadnt pressed F3. Yes, I did save it.

This is frustrating me, any ideas?

That works great. But it appears to mess up all the other GFX in the rom, including my title screen etc. Also when I enter the level (or title screen), Mario dies Immediately. Is there a problem with my ROM?

D:

I did not know that! :p

Guess I'l start over then - Thanks for your help ^^

EDIT: Ok, I've done what you said and all the layer 1 gfx seem to be back to normal. But theres another problem; (I guess one problem leads to another heh) none the of standard sprites (layer 3 gfx) are appearing correctly.

Heres a screenshot to show you what I mean.

I ripped one of those requests on that other page but the others were not the right size and are pretty much incompatible with SMW. the request is the cybernator intro stage BG. Upload this please

I'm quite frustrated with this. I've done it by the way Coby says to do it. Yet... EVERY level has messed up tiles, every tile, except the ones I just now added, are equally as screwed. Even the BG's are messed.

The download came with a .TPL, I don't know what to do with that. I hear thats a pallette or something, but again - I don't know what to do with it.

And... on a side-note. I doubt simply implementing that will fix the problem of how every single level is messed, even though I followed Coby's instructions step-by-step.

-Yes- I chose a blank page on the 16x16 editor.
-Yes- I did the steps in correct order, from beginning to end.
-Yes- I cleared all objects from the level I wanted to add the tiles to. Like I said, I did the instructions step-by-step.

And yet somehow, all levels are now messed up. And... Just yay. Can anyone help with my problem?

Try this:

Get a fresh copy of the rom. Extract graphics. Move an object and save. Import graphics. THEN do Coby's steps.

Also, the TPL is a palette, which you go to File -> Import or something like that for it to show up. Save to keep the palette.

Well, the level you are editing's tiles should get messed up, but not every level. That means you can only use the ExGFX to make up the level.

Oh, and there's a new set, Megaman Battle Network rip by Forte.EXE. Very nice, but be sure to read the readme.

Hey.

I was just looking through the ExGFX Workshop site, and I noticed that a BG I wish I could download there isn't there right now, namely the Barrel Shield Bust-Up BG smwedit made.

Could I request that this BG be added to the ExGFX Workshop, please? It might just be the right BG I want for the forest levels in my hack (I thought the Forest Frenzy BG from DKC would be good (I got it into my hack successfully now, thanks smwedit ) until I saw the other BG, and no offence, but I actuially like the Barrel Shield Bust-Up BG a bit better).

Thanks in advance.

Now... I have a BG request folks... but before I give out the image... this background doesn't come from any of the Official Metroid Games, even through the graphics are somewhat simular... they came from a fan made game called ORN. Here's the link for better information.

http://www.cs.rit.edu/~tjh8300/Orn/

Now then... the BG image in the fan-game contained three layers: BG1, BG2, BG3. I just edited it with MSPaint so it appears on one BG layer once it's placed into a SMW hack. It goes along a theme of underground, with lava in the background, which is why there's a strip of orange in the image... OK I'm going on too much, here's the image.

Edit: Well... I have one more... can someone make this into a ExGFX file... I need it for one part of my castle level in my hack... The pictures in this one pic may clue you in why I need this in my hack...

I don't know if anyone has asked this question, but I'm just going to wing it anyway. This is the message I keep recieving:
Warning!
The graphics in the rom are still in 3bpp format. If you want to preserve them, you should extract the GFX before doing this and then re-insert them afterwards so the program can store them as 4bpp as well. Unless, of course, you like looking at garbled graphics...
How do I do this?
