With the recent interest in Super Mario Land 2, I figured I'd try my hand at porting some of the graphics over. This is the first part of the set I've got just about done, tell me what you think. I still gotta port over the different blocks, I figure I'll tackle that and then begin work on the background. Opinions and comments are encouraged, as always. |

Black in background = BAD. Don't use black in the background. A dark grey, yeah, but not pure black. It looks as though that was the FG. But it does look unique. It is nice. JJ: Awesome. Can't wait until it is finished. |

@Sukasa: The screen reminds me of some MMX GFX, just in NES style. The only thing I don't like about it are the bushes in the BG, otherwise it's quite cool. Anyway, I'm working on another SML2 tileset. The one from Pumpkin Zone. I will post screenies, when I'm done with it. 925th post. |

I looked on that ExGFX website, there were tons of cool tilesets, but none that had just general blocks for use with block tool (like the smashable block, No-mario blocks, etc) Does a tileset like that exist, or did I miss something on the site/this thread, because I just skipped to the end | |||

REQUEST: Tree root tiles for the foreground, but there's a small catch. They need to fit into my Flame Forest underground tiles' ExGFX file (unreleased). It's basically set up like the regular tiles are in the original Mario World, so it needs to fit in about half an ExGFX file. Irregular-shaped objects are the only things I am bad at drawing. Oh, and I can handle recoloring, if you care to know. If you're wondering, the Flame Forest ground is nothing more than a heavy modification of the SMW Forest ground tiles with the regular/cave dirt tiles for the dirt. It sports dark brown for dirt. The ground is orangish in the land levels and reddish in the underground levels. Technical notes: Three palettes are being used in there, 2, 3, and 4 (fear the unaffected status bar). I could cut that down to two if I could find a better background (currently, I'm using my SMB3 1-5), but nothing seems to fit.
