Originally posted by HyperHacker Well, in France, games didn't get translated to French at all... Only some japanese games would, but english games generally were released there as European, and they were basically UK games... It's only later on that they started translating them to other european languages, like a little before the Saturn/Playstation generation Oddly enough, playing RPGs wasn't hard... I was maybe 7 years old at the time, playing games like Shining Force on the Genesis, and I just didn't read the text... I don't recall ever not buying a game because of the language, at least ;o |

Man I should yell at EB for selling me the French Canadian copy of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection...The one with absolutely NO fucking English. I don't believe that one - I can't see the game being in French (and if it was there should be a language setting) and every game I've ever bought after the French requirement came into play has bilingual manuals. |

Sometimes that's the biggest blame why games get delayed into Europa. Becuse they have to translate it into german/french. Since thoose countries population aren't god at English. -.-; Say whatever you want about EA, but they do release the game with a few days diffrence all over the world. Video game companies aren't as good. :/ Althought I remember playing yoshi island in french as kid, becuse I got bored on the English one. I think Yoshi island was the first game I saw with language options even... |

EA *is* a video game company... And it all depends on localization. Don't forget that games usually need to be translated before release, and going from Japanese to English isn't a one-day walk in the park. Or from English to 3-4 other language for European releases. |
