Does anyone know how did BMF54123 make that scrolling effects in the inro levels (C5 and C7) , and BTW: where did he "hide" mario?

he may have used movement blocks, made them black, and put layer priority

He blocked off the top of the screen, put Mario there, enabled auto-scroll, and disabled vertical scrollling.

Um, one of the scroll things starts off slow then speeds up, and when the message box comes up, it would stop scrolling automatically.

Actually, for those levels, I set up a custom ASM routine that would scroll layer 2 independently of the auto-scroll sprites (I didn't like the way the sprites started out slow and gradually increased in speed). I only used those sprites to advance layer 1 forward, so the next sprite would trigger at the correct time.

And then did you set L2 scrolling to none for your routine?
