Ahh..Lord of the Flies. We did quite a number on that in school, yup. My teacher broke it down and analyzed like...absolutly every possible element of it. Needless to say I know the thing inside out now because of that

I am currently reading Wuthering Heights.

To read list
Lord of the Flies
Angels and Demons
The DaVinci Code
Deception Point
The Canterbury Tales

This always happens to me after my birthday and Christmas, I get so many new novels, but they take me months to finish.

Lord of the Flies is a good book too. The whole class read it last term or something and we did a review on it.

It shows the real human nature.

Well, I've just finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Can't believe I've gone through three books in a week either. It's not like I read *that* much.

Ooo. I remember there was a thread like this a while back. It was pretty popular for about a month, and then it fizzled away to the edge of obscurity. Almost had a bit of actual discussion going on for a while there, though.

I finished reading from The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy through Mostly Harmless almost two weeks ago. It was plain awesome, as I'm sure many of you are aware. Hillarious all the way through, and it actually highlights a lot of the astrophisical theories of the time (thus showing off exactly how much of what we know about the universe has really been in the paradigm since the seventies), and threw a lot of other hillarious theories into the mix that, while probably not physically sound, seem to tie in well with life in general in a Murphy's Law sort of way.

All five parts of The Guide were fantastically clever and brilliantly hillarious. Jokes just pop up where you least expect them, and the story is so immersive that by the time you're halfway into the first book, you've almost completely forgotten how terribly absurd the circumstance of each and every scene is. My friend actually asked me at one point what was going on where I was in the story. I started to tell him, but it really wasn't working out becasue as soon as I started explaining one thing, I'd realize thet it didn't make sense unless I first explained an earlier happening. But then that happening wouldn't make sense without an explaination of something from even earlier on, and soforth.

Anyhow. So that was awesome.

I also finished reading MYST: The Book of Atrus just a few days back. My reading of that series is a little off, because I read the second and third long before ever reading this one. But the order doesn't much matter, and I still find that the mind-blowingly creative ideas in this series are so unique that I can't help but rank Rand Miller as one of my all-time favorite authors.

I'm not sure what I'll be reading next. I have a great big extensively damaged hardcover book that I bought at a damaged book sale about a year ago just sitting around my house. It's a fantasy called Colors of Chaos, and I've read a little of the intoduction before. It seems to be up my alley. I'm probably going to give it a shot once I've had a little time to clear my plate of all the school work that's piling up on me.

Sabishii: I read Atlas Shrugged about a year ago. If you're interested in philosophy (and your list seems to indicate that you are), you'll probably love it. And even if you're not, it still manages to be a surprisingly (well, for me) creative and interesting story. It can be a bit preachy at times, but a good read if you can get past that.

Finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Will read The Da Vinci Code afterwards, cause I think I'm out of Harry Potter books to read.

Need to get a bookshelf here, my book collection is getting really unruly.

Currently I'm reading the DaVincii Code. It's an awesome book. I don't know whats next for me to read, but we'll see. I like this book though because there is a lot of theory in it that is actually based upon real world things. Organizations mentioned in the book are actually real. There are other reasons I like it, but I fear giving them might spoil the plot of the book in some way for some poor soul who happens to be preparing to read it.

Well, I was reading Digital Fortress, but... well...

10:40 PM: START reading book at page 0
02:47 AM: FINISH reading book at end

And it was a pretty long book (and very good read!) but I obliterated it in a little over 4 hours...

I'm going to start reading Aa book from the dark materials trilogoy called the amber spy glass, by Philp pullman, I remember finding the others to interesting (I read them ages ago).

I really want to read DaVincii Code, it sound very intresting and some people actually believe in it.

Of the books I've read, I would have to recommend When Worlds Collide by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer (1932).

This book is so overwhelming that by the fourth or fifth chapter, you'll experience what it feels like to know the world will end, and you'll feel what its like to hope you could be one of the few that might escape. This book surprisingly doesn't ever sound or feel far-fetched; it all makes sense as you read it. The science of this novel is startlingly on the mark for the time it was written (before WWII) and although there are a few 'technical' flaws that some people could pick out, they are more than overshadowed by the sheer depth of the experience. This book was introduced to me by my dad, who says it
