Middlebie.

I wonder what I would be...the (old) board was over a year old when I came, but I have been posting at Acmlm's for over two years.

I've seen 'newbie' being used in a Tv series. I think it was on a police station, or some type of office, where they'd just hired this new dude, and then said that he was just a newbie.

I don't remember from what it was, since it wasn't from something I watch regularly. I was just zapping through the channels, and happened to be there, just for that scene.

Anyway, I've seen people use 'midbie' for people that are neither, but I think it sounds a bit odd.
Newbie is a general expression in english, LizardKing. It's not just for the internet or gaming.

I would think the term "established regulars" would fit the bill.

As I see it (aside from spelling bees, ofcourse, oh crap, there goes Max again) newbie and oldbie are both prefixes. They are both used to point out that a person is either new to the game or have been there for a very long time. You don't need to point out that someone isn't one of those; we assume that by default. So there really isn't a need for a replacement term, although if you must have one, established regular sounds formal enough to work. Damn semantics.

Then chop down that tree by calling oldbies "Geezers" and newbies "Youngsters".

Seriously, anything with -bie on the end is just retarded. Other than newbie or oldbie. Even then, no one really cares if you're an oldbie.

I think the term would be "regular user" or "board member".

Some of the dialogue in Shining Soul II is pretty fun - "newbie" is used on more than one occasion.

If you don't stand out in my mind, you're a newbie. That's it. I'm not going to sit down with words.

I know Cymoro. He's not a newbie.

I don't know who Ninjitetsu is, or maybe I just haven't been paying attention. so he's a newbie. Plus he made this thread.

People who try to make up other words to make themselves seem better are newbies.

I don't care.

Ashley - What about a friend you know who just signed up to the board a day or so ago and only has 3 posts to his/her name?

(I'm in the mood to point out flaws in arguments today. )
