Has this been done before? If not, then it ought to be something good and fresh to try.
---

Kyle, the young mage of force and gravity, was wandering along a vast beach. He was searching for the Sim Battle arena, but was presently lost. He was not in a rush, though. There was time to spare, time to enjoy the late afternoon veiw. Two silver discs floated behind him as he picked his way through the sand and driftwood, each quivering steadily. These weapons belonged to him; he used his powers to levitate them. Should the need for cutlery arrise, the discs would each produce four spinning blades and home in on any hostile form in the area. But why should there come such a need? Not now, not at a time like this, Kyle told himself silently, and was glad of the peace that the excuse of being lost gave him. Here he turned to look at the water and the sun beginning its decent toward it. The water hardly seemed to move, though it was an ocean...
Actually, that was quite odd; there was a distinct lack of waves. Kyle glanced around confusedly. Maybe it was actually a lake, and he was more lost than he thought...then, looking away from the water, he found a sign up the hill. It indicated that a town was 5 miles away. No, it was the precise town he was looking for. Still slightly concerned, Kyle tried to push the anomoly out of his mind. He would be well on his way in minutes. He would just take one last glance at...
Suddenly, there was a large stir in the water. Something big...something long...many of them, were moving toward the surface! Quickly, Kyle drew his katana from his sheath, and the discs at the side of him opened up and moved closer to him. Whatever it was, he had to be ready...
There was a loud splash! A gigantic tentacle, at the very least 50 feet long, had sprung from the once crystalline water and wrapped firmly around a large beach rock. Immediately, one, two, three more sprang out and found a good solid structure to latch themselves onto. Backing away in pure terror, Kyle tripped over a log and fell onto his back. He wasted no time in floating back up to stance. Yes, the situation called for flight. But in what way? Should he run and forget about this beast? He did not yet know its motive. It could be friendly...but of course it wasn't. That was wishful thinking.
Before Kyle could correctly arrange his thoughts, an enormous, bulbous head was produced from raging tides. Four more terrible arms reached out to anchor the head onto the beach. After settling itself, the octopus creature peered far into the distance. From its height, it could certainly see the city in the distance...and it did. Immediately after the monster had sized up the city, it began crawling along toward it. There was no longer any doubt that the beast had murderous intentions.
He no longer had any choice. This is where his training would pay off! It may look terrifying, but in battle things could be different! Before he knew what he was doing, Kyle had sent out his blades to attack the nearest tentacle, the one anchored to the rock. Knowing this would, er, alarm the octopus, Kyle quickly drew his blades back and circled them around him at an incredible speed. When the octopus would reach for him, the tip of its tentacle would be sliced off. The monster drew itself around and eyed Kyle. Deeming him not threatening, the octopus effortlessly squirted a powerful jet of water at Kyle. Kyle was thrown back into the sand. When he was down, the octopus made to smite him with its mighty tentacle, but Kyle glided out of the way, pulled back his katana, and swung it at the arm, taking off a good chunk. He then flew around to the head, circled it, and sent his saws to attack the eyes of the beast. The octopus attempted to swat away the saws, but only cut itself in the process, and instead focused on Kyle. It caught him after a few swings of another tentacle. Kyle was locked firmly in the beast's grip. His saws spun madly at the tentacle which bound him, but they were silenced with another squirt of water. Then, as he was being lower into the mouth of the octopus, Kyle casted a powerful gravity spell on the tentacle holding him. The octopus did not expect this, and was easily caught off guard; the arm quickly fell to the ground, and Kyle took off flying as fast as he could, away from the beast.

Kyle:There's no way I or anyone could ever take on this monstrosity alone!

Then his mind fell on the distress beacon he conveneintly had with him. Without hesitation, he pulled it from his pocket and set it off. A huge, green beam of light shot out to the sky, signaling for help from anyone. It would take the help of many people, and teamwork, to defeat this massive foe.

OOC: I don't know for sure, but I THINK it may have been done in a match called 'Cuccoo Maul'. Still, very good idea. All I say is, don't be surprised if Kirbynite or Grey whacks it into the Story Forum... Depending on how this turns out, that may happen. Just a warning. Now anyway... count me in!

Though no figure is visible yet, the young mage recieves a telepathic message from a far-away Psi Warrior.

"Kyle! Do you know what you're up against? That is an Oceanlord Demon Spawn! Not only is it nearly impossible to kill, but it regenerates at a fast rate! Those sliced off tentacles may grow back in a matter of minutes!

"I am on the way. For now I want you to play a defensive stance and prevent the Ocean Demon from reaching the town. Do you understand?"

At that, from a far away crystal palace miles in the sky, a streak of blue ether rockets toward the conflict...

Alright...I guess its just Kyle and Schwa VS. the Oceanlord Demon Spawn.
---

Pleased to hear help is on the way, Kyle changes his plan of attack. The demon seemed to have forgotten of his existance, so Kyle flew around behind it and focused on a large beach rock of about 15 feet in diameter. By distorting the gravity around it, he lifted the rock slowly above the octopus's head and let it fall. A greenish ooze squirted everywhere, but in a matter of seconds the wound closed up! The monster swiftly shuffled around to face Kyle again. It picked up the rock with one of its tentacles and launched it at Kyle, which he narrowly dodged. Kyle floated up to eye level of the Oceanlord and sent one of his blades to pester it, the other circling Kyle for defence. It was working! The monster was being distracted! It angrily swatted at the saw, but it still just cut itself in the process. Kyle charged up and began firing force projectiles at the Oceanlord, which hit it like heavy clubs. Knowing no melee attack would get to Kyle uncountered, the Oceanlord gave a demonstration of its mastery over the sea. The water on the beach retracted. Then, a gigantic wall of water made its way to the battle scene. Kyle brought back his weapons and flew as high as he could, but found himself again in the grasp of the Oceanlord. He was to be anchored down until smashed by the wave! His saws again hacked at the tentacle. They were cutting through, but two more tentacles came to hold him down. He was overpowered! Kyle dropped both of his blades to focus on the wave. As it came at him, he held his hands out, to push all of the water around him. This lasted for about a second, and Kyle was hit by the water. The tentacles still grasped him, so he was spared from being tossed around by the wave. After the water returned to normal, the Oceanlord lobbed Kyle into the sea. Kyle was still alive, but only just. He felt around his pockets for a healing potion, took a swig, and went back at the Oceanlord again. By now it had moved to the middle of the hill that seperated the beach from the plain...
