OOC: Alright guys, I want a good, clean fight. Use the arena how you will, design it to your perfect specifications, and make sure you follow the rules. That said, fire away!

Gusts and gusts of wind began to brew, as if someone had been casting a spell to make a storm. But there was no magic in the air, at least not yet. The arena grew dark and the stars began to fade, as though there were no lights left in the universe. Thunder was heard in the west, but there was no sign of lightning. In fact all that could be seen or heard was the sound of thunder. Beating and beating, as though one was playing a drum. The wind began to grow stronger. Stronger and stronger it grew to the speed of a Mach 1 jet. The only thing that showed that it was not stronger then that was the sound of the thunder in the west, which was still growing and getting louder. The sound of the thunder seemed to bounce right off the walls of the arena and into the heart of everyone who heard. With the wind and the thunder one would think that there was a storm a brewing, but no sign of lightning was found. The thunder began to get closer, and closer, until it was right there in the arena. But still there was no lightning to be found. With the thunder getting closer and the wind flying faster the heat of the arena grew and grew. It first began as a simple, and comfortable, 74 degrees, but it grew and grew and it was now at about 380 degrees and could easily cause a fire if there was some plant life.
Finally it happened the wind was starting to slow. Little by little the wind slowed, but before it could get much below mach one fire started to shoot through the sky, as if someone was willing the oxygen in the air to ignite and now the lightning was there. Making even more fire in the area. The wind kept flowing and the thunder and lightning kept going, but now it began to rain. The rain obviously saved the area from becoming brimstone. The once dangerous thunderstorm, which was out of control, was now a simple storm that could easily go away now.
The wind died down and the thunder stopped, but the sky was still clouded and the lightning stayed there. Flashing and flashing the lightning was growing bigger, and bigger until one giant flash, which could have easily destroyed the whole arena, landed right in the middle. After this flash the lightning began to subside and the clouds began to break. Finally letting the sun come back into existence on the arena. The lightning was now gone and the clouds subsided leaving only one visible thing left in the arena. It was a man. He was dressed in a black and red leather pair of jeans, which were loose around the thighs and calves, a black loose shirt that was barely tight enough to reveal his six-pack abs. And to top it off he was wearing a black leather cape that had red vinyl inlays on the back of it going into a pattern of alchemy, and around his neck he was wearing an alchemy symbol on a platinum chain. For weapons he had a Zanbatou on his back and a katana on his side. And for weapons that is not that visible is his kris, which rides up his back.
The man spoke out and said,"
My name is Legault and I am here to fight Seph2k4." This is all that was goten out of him before he took his striking position. By reaching back with his right hand and pulling the Zanbatou forward and grasping it with both hands.

OOC: Best of luck to you.

Suddenly, a dimensional outbreak...

Just as it seemed it couldn't get any stronger, something had been containing the storm out of sight. It's contents remaining perfectly unknown until something had finally decided to show himself. This living being being none other than Elite Seph himself, standing as tall and strong as ever, the wind blowing strongly against it's hard metal jacket, suddenly seeming to weather it's bulky exterior. In the distance, a shadow... a mere shadow, with 2 glaring lush yellow eyes were upon Legault, striving to terminate the foe like all before him.

Elite Seph: "At last... the great Legault. Long time no see... but then again, who has time for season's greetings? I'm here because I have a score to settle... with you!"

Elite Seph paused, it's hard, croaking metallic voice ceased for mere moments, and then coming back stronger and more full-heartedly than ever before.

Elite Seph: "Go on... make the first move, as usual."

Legault turned towards his foe and looked him straight in the eyes. Just as Legault had looked his eyes seemed to turn red and become inflamed with the hatred of self, for whenever Legault fought he fought thinking that his foe was the one who had killed his son and daughter so many years ago. Legault, still holding the Zanbatou out front in a defensive postion, placed it in one hand. With the zanbatou in his right hand he reached behind his head and sheathed in its great sheath. Knowing that he only wanted to use the zanbatou as a defensive weapon, he reached forward and grabbed at his left side the Katana.
With the katana in his right hand he crouched down and jumped straigh at Seph hoping to catch him off guard. Legault was now right in front of Seph and with his right hand he lowered the blade and then swing it up with all of his might hoping to catch him into a combo.

Elite Seph: "Not so fast!"

OVER-OVERSHEILD!

Prior to the attack hitting (or whenever it would hit), Seph had been emboddied into a large double over-sheild in the form of a blue aurora that, should anything hit it, it will not only be absorbed without any damage, but will be caught in this shield's defenses and, as such, left renderless for a single turn (when the shield discipates).

Assuming that that last tech would go as expected, Seph would then raise the two fighters up high, one trapt in the sheild, the other in the midst of attacking, and then go sky-rocketing back towards the ground, face first, in a nosedive position. Only they would be going so fast that, when they hit the ground, it would add extensive falling damage to the target's hit count and thus, the sheild would explode, causing even further damage to him.

"What hast thou done to me? How hath I been trapped?"
Without even realizing it Legault began slashing and slashing with a fury that had never been seen before. His eyes which were once a flaming red were now projecting the flame out and burning everything around them. With each slash of the Katana the flame got bigger and bigger until it consumed the entire sheild making it to were no one could see what was inside of the sheild. Hotter and hotter the sheild got until it began to wave and look like a mirage. The heat was now begining to escape and there was nothing to hold it back. Since the sheild could not contain the fury of Legault the sheild itself burned from the inside out depleating any energy that was holding the sheild there and sending back as if it were a bolt of lightning blasting through the dark sky

Elite Seph: "So much wasted energy... such a waste of an effort... just think, all that energy for nothing... all that hatred wearing you down inside... it shall be your downfall!"

Elite Seph's eyes then glarred for a matter of moments, in an essence that would be blinding to anyone too close to it at the time it shun it's blush white rays of light, which later ruptured and opened up a series of portals all-around Legault... only there was something rather odd about them... something that Legault couldn't quite put his finger on... he couldn't actually see them. Only Seph did, and as such, Seph unsheeted his Immortal Staff Hybrid, and started slashing at Legault everywhere in a furious combo through the portals, it's hit damage growing stronger with each hit that followed.

"Haaaaaaaa!!!"
With the same fury that had once turn him into almost pure energy Legault was now flaming once more. His eyes became a hugh of vermillion and yet they seemed to glow. The veins in his arms were now popping out of his skin and turning red. Even his hair was changing, for once it was black and now it was blood red and filled with the hate of Satan himself. His red inlays on his black shirt were now glowing and it seemed as though he had become flame itself, well that is what it looked like anyway.

"Do you seriously think that those portals can stop me? Yes, I can see the portals, well not see them but, feel their energy flowing. But do you realize that since you made portals to me that things can travel back through those portals and hit you? Well they can, and if you don't believe me allow me to demonstrate."

Still flaming with hate and anger for Seph, Legault unsheathed his katana and held it above his head. The veins in his arm began to turn dark red and the skin itself was begining to smoke. His hear was now shooting straight up and it became fire at the top. The steel-toed boots that he was wearing had now turned red as if they were so hot that they became steril. The shin guards and knee gurads also turned red and began to smoke a little. In fact anything that was metal began to flame, even his sword.

The Katana was flaming as if it were the sun itself and it put a glow on the field as if it were holy but not. Now readied for the attack Legault lowered the right hand, which held the Lavantar, into a defensive postion.

When the first attacks began to come through Legault began to duck and dodge, as he was trained to do since he was an assassin. Right before the final blow went through Legault dove and rolled forward and thrusted his sword into the portal instantly burning the air around the lavantar and closing the portal a little. When Legault looked over he could se the Lavantar going through a portal right next to Seph. Without even thinking Legault began slashing and slashing hoping to hit Seph before the last hit struck through the portal.

After the slashes Legault reached behind his back with his left hand grabbed up his back and grabbed a kris which he used immediately to deflect Seph's last attack.
Legault now re-sheathed the Kris up his back and pulled the lavantar back through the now closing portals.

Elite Seph: "Think fast! ...REAL fast!"

Elite Seph knew he was being bombared in a furious, explosive combination of hits, and yet didn't hesitate to counter. Infact, he merely blocked the first hit with his Immortal Staff WHILE infusing it with the Paralysis3 spell (paralyzes anything it touches for a single turn), and, hoping it would have the desired effect, blasted at the supposedly defenseless and powerless Legault with an uncharged Psychic blast that, while uncharged, and thus less powerful than the more-powerful "No Spoon" attack (drops both HP AND target's stats like crazy), it still gets the job done and does a sizeable amount of damage, WITH a potential symptom of temporary confusion (in short, a 50/50 chance the target may actually end up attacking himself instead of the desired target for as long as it remains in effect).

Legault, knowing that he had allready left the portals by time Seph had a chance to even counter, crouched down and began chanelling all of his energy to his center mass. With each second the energy and aura got bigger and bigger, slowly cracking the ground itself. Within only a minute the dirt and sod was flying around him and it looked as though he was creating a tornado with all the rotation in the dust and sod. While the energy field got bigger and bigger Legault raised his lavantar into the air and began to make the aura become enflamed with fire of the lavantar. Slowly the fire got bigger and in about two minutes the fire was shooting into the sky about thirty feet up. The energy and aura that Legault was emmiting was so big that it would not be able to fi into a normal sized house.

Legault was now accesing his special ability and he was engulfing himself in flame.

Now ready for what he was going to do, Legault quit charging the attack and lowered his lavantar to a horizontal position, placing the blade right in front of his face. Seph could now see the new Legault, His eyes were engulfed in flame and his body was on fire in fact it was like look at satan himself or someone who was in hell and engulfed by the fiery pits for all eternity.

Legault lowered the lavantar and began running straight at Seph as if nothing was even going to stop him, but once he got there he noticed that Seph had his staff out and was trying to do something with it, but this did nothing but paralize him for a second until he broke out of the spell, for the fire aura that Legault was emmiting was so large that it was though firaga was being cast in front of him wherever he went. Now within striking range, Legault put his lavantar up and came down with a vertical slash that would cut anyone in half.

OFF: How could you be inside the portal striking at Elite Seph one post, and then magically be out of it the next in time to save yourself from being paralyzed (when Seph would block the hit with the Paralysis3-infused Immortal Staff Hybrid)? I call that miraculous dodging (which is SORT OF a standard sim-battling rule, even though it's not directly stated)! Sure I let it slide last time when my last opponent would always say he avoided my techs one way or another (sometimes in ways that makes it look CLEARLY like "miraculous" dodging), but not this time! In short, edit your post!

Obviously you didn't read my post so please re-look at it and notice that I destroyed the portals in the first and then I charged in on the attack in my second post so please read the post before this to understand okay. And if you read Legault's profile you will see that he has the ability to dodge almost anything, even if it does seem to miraculous. So just read through it again okay.

OCC: You CAN'T destroy the portals that easily! It takes a little more than just primitive hand-to-hand combat or Elemental techs to destroy moving portals, sorry. As for your character being able to dodge almost everything, I say that's reason enough for me to just hit you with an Instant Death tech, one that you guaranteed WON'T be able to dodge nor counter, of my own right this second. It's okay to have "evasive" characters, but one that dodges almost every single tech you throw at them, no matter how "creative" they might be, is pushing it. Even I make my characters at least SOMEWHAT susceptable to opponent's attacks, and I use nothing but "Omega" (super-powerful) characters, some of which are SO powerful/difficult I don't think many would find suitable for standard SB rule use. Legault reminds me of my last opponent, Dracoon, who TOTALLY god-modded our last bout together, no questions asked. Not only would he say he would dodge EVERY SINGLE TECH I threw at him, he tried to downplay my finishing move when I decided "okay, enough of this god-modding BS!" by saying it hardly affected him at all, and then said he hit me with a tech that's just as cheap as the one used on him, if not more! Long story short: winners don't cheat, and cheaters don't win. Just remember that... oh, and while you're at it, edit your post!

More R&B (Rubbish & Bullshit, as I like to call it) notes: Even if you were to destroy the portals successfully, that still wouldn't compensate for my successful counter of your last attack, which would leave your character paralyzed by the Paralysis3 spell I infused my weapon with before I blocked the hit. You should also take that into consideration.

Oh, god dammit, not again.

Alright, Seph, I'm getting tired of this. Every foe you've faced so far seems to have a problem with your style. I have no personal problems with it so long as you make it bearable, but at the same time, you two are thinking along two different trains of thought:

Seph, your characters, in this setting, are not nearly as powerful as you believe they are. What if Legault is just as powerful as your "Elite Seph" character? Hell, if I were to SB you, I'm willing to bet Janus would give you a run for your money on the sheer basis that I've been using him since I first got here, so he's got to have something going for him.

Second, Dracoon does NOT god-mod. He was matching power with power, and while I think that entire fiasco was unjustified, I also think you blew it out of proportion. At least Dracoon had the good sense to just brush it off and not worry about it when I told him he was in the wrong.

Third, Legault, I enjoy your dramatic style of battle, but you're just feeding the flames (to use a situational pun) by arguing with Seph. Technically, while this battle only has 6 posts on each side, you didn't take a single hit. Assuming you continued in this style (since the battle's length is a factor as well), you WOULD be breaking the rules. While I understand there are time constraints on this, the least you could do is humor the crowd. You are being judged, after all.

Now, Seph, this is the third time this has happened. I'm generally a three-strikes kind of person, but this is the second time it's happened in the tournament, which I'm going to allow to save you. If you have a problem with the way your foe fights, then bear with it, and the judges will assess it as well. Chances are, if you see them god-moding, then the judges will, too, and demerit them on those grounds.

This is your last warning, Seph. You're a good battler and writer, just let the situation take care of itself. If you start arguing with your next opponent, I'm gonna personally kick you out of the tourney myself, regardless of whether or not Dracoon is taking it over again (which he is).

Legault, this is a first offense on your part, and I get the feeling it was circumstantial, but you have to keep in line, too. You're surprisingly good for someone who just got here recently, and I don't think it'd be good to lose that, nor do I want you to leave.

I'm declaring this fight over. There's still one day left in the round, but once again, the silence has been deafening. I'll leave the rest to the judges.

This will come into play soon enough.

Legault, you're good, but your character... seems a little over powered at some points. I can't pin point it exactly, but something seemed off while I read your side of the battle. The whole flame thing is nice and having a super evasive character is fine in my book, as long as you don't overdue it. Try and keep some more balance or something. This was the first battle of yours I read, while your style doesn't appeal to me, it does work.

Seph, I don't know where to begin. You'll probably just say I'm biased and a whole lot of other bs, but I think you'll see where I'm comming from.

1) You complain about Legault's dodging, only 5 posts of dodging by my count, yet you still complain, when in fact it is your fault people do this. You try and unleash ZOMGWTFBBQ power techs every single turn, hardly no charge, that could cripple someone and practically make them dodge if they want a chance, while only taking minor damage yourself. Yet you still complain. You aren't even right to complain and if I hear another "I'll kill your character instantly threat" I'll eject you out of the tournament so fast, you'll feel like you've been going mach 50.

Oh yeah, and his character profile says if he takes a hit, he would take it hard.

2) Get rid of that damn air of supriority, I can practically feel it coming in waves from every one of your posts.

3) Respect your opponets. If you want to sim-battle and not make a bunch of enemies, you can't be a jack ass.

4) Do NOT make cheap shots at users. I've only heard you do it to me, and you're lucky I don't give a damn, but you should never do it.

5) Take the header out of your battle, Elite Seph isn't 2-0, if you remember correctly, our fight was cancled AND I doubt most people would agree that you won even if it wasn't cancled, although I could be reaching. Maybe this is why your Seph Invitational 2 hasn't gotten anyone in it yet?

Although I may seem bias, and my vote only matters if it is absolutely needed in this battle, Legault wins. He has far greater potential and keeps some balance in his character.

Hmmm... I also can't seem to find a profile for Elite Seph...

I totally agree with Dracoon. Legault wins in my eyes, and my vote is based mostly on the fact that you were the first one to ask him to edit his post. The other reasons Dracoon stated are also true, but that was the major one.

P.S. Hey, Seph, you never finished your personal battle with ME! I was hoping we could actually have a decent fight! What gives? (Of course, this has NOTHING to do with judging, but I just wanted to ask you...)
