I post on the board and play Starcraft?
I used to like TSR games when I was 8. I'm a retrogamer and I romhack.

All I can think of... At the same time you would'nt catch me dead with a pocket protector.

What can I say...he's my favorite. When I first started playing Dynasty Warriors 3, I picked Zhang He because he looked like Vega from the Street Fighter games, and then I discovered that he kicks all kinds of ass in battle, and his effeminate traits amused me. I'm tall, broad-shouldered, pretty small-boobed, and more muscular than an average woman, and like you said, Zhang He is feminine (he has rather soft facial features and no facial hair), so I think I'll pull him off pretty well. I can even sound like him as long as I speak in my lower register. "I...defeated an OFficer!"

I would like to cosplay Zhu Rong at some point in the future because she's fricking badass and her outfits are w00t. I'd never be able to convince Randy to be Meng Huo along with me, though. He's not wide enough and he doesn't want to run around in a loincloth as a character whose most well-known line is "My wife's gonna kill me!"

Trapster - It's going to be a while until it's done, but I put up pictures in my cosplay.com photo gallery as I get various aspects of the costume into a progressed enough state to show off, so just keep checking there every couple of weeks or so for updates. A pic of the wig, which I had commissioned (though I made the butterfly accessory myself) should be up this month. I'm working on the mold for the weapons right now, and I'll also post that, but I won't actually be able to make the real weapons until it gets warm enough to lay fiberglass outside.

And I used an image with text in it, and put words behind it. :-P

My husband and I are 26, and our game collection isn't going anywhere anytime soon. We have other friends who are 30 or almost there who still game as well. If it's fun, why give it up?

I'll probably never stop playing videogames...

And I do a LOT more reading than watching of movies...I guess I prefer to imagine the scenes in my mind than watch them...

I've got a simple definition for my geekhood:

Programmer of over ten full computer games = GRAND DORKUS

That, and the massive pile of books in the corner of my room is about 2 feet high and 5 feet in diameter.

- My parents can't understand why I still play video games. Pfffft. I plan on playing them LONG into the future, thank you very much.
- I was so desperate to get the Zelda Collectors Edition Gamecube disk that I pretty much whored myself to Ashley for the missing code I needed.
- I'm fairly certain I have a near-complete collection of the Valiant Nintendo comic books in a box somewhere.
- I know COBOL. Not extensively, but I know it. And I also know that it is one of the CRAPPIEST languages known to man.
- I contribute new video-game related (and maybe other ones soon...) articles to Wikipedia.
- I'm obsessive when it comes to statistics in sports and pretty much follow both major and minor leagues.

Considering that all my waking life is filled with some variety of geekdom or nerdiness, I think the above sentence just about sums it up.

Been programming since I was in grade 4.
I play Magic: The Gathering.
I own a gameboy advance sp and never leave the house without it.
I borrowed FF: DoS from a friend and the next day had 11 hours on it. Next day I had 20.
I have my own Acmlm board. Woot!
I am obsessed with DOS (Seeing how I made a DOS color scheme in Nebland)
I changed my shell in my Windows 95 computer to command.com instead of explorer.exe so I could control everything through prompt.
I've taken a computer hardware course and used big heavy textbooks.
I romhack.
I play Starcraft.

There's more I'm just too lazy to post more.

Oh yeah, QtParted rocks, I used that program to resize my FAT32 partition before I installed Fedora core 2. I already have four partitions, one for Windows, one "boot partition" which is 100 mb (must it be really be that big? ), the windows partition is 4142 MB big and the main Linux partition is 3168 MB big, the partition for cache is 256 MB. Not even half of that 100 MB "boot" partition is used...

Slackware will install LILO (LInux LOader; the MBR) automatically. If you have Windows, it'll default to that. Go ahead and install it on the MBR. It has a warning, but it won't hurt anything (installing LILO on MBR used to make WinNT systems not bootable, but now it can boot WinNT).
That computer already have a bootloader installed, which is calledGRUB. Althought I could always use LILO instead, I know the diffrence between thoose two... sorta.

I test Slackware on VMware first, so I don't messup any computer I have, and can play around with things, or get a distro I don't like. Hell, i maybe should try to install Win98 and slackware on the same virtual machine so I can emulate the computer i'm really going to install on later.

Colleen: I was kinda desperate getting thoose collectors edition things too, hell here in Sweden you needed you join a Nintendo club to get thoose things. Which we did. I didn't remember the orginal Zelda being that good...

There is severeal types of geeks, like they are thoose who are masters on Starcraft and CS and would be considered geek in normal societies but can't program in any language or even have a intrest in it.

I used to be addicted to video games, but it died down for me... still I do play alot on my DS. But that's becuse of Advance wars...

If you're concerned about the partition limit, make an extended and logical partition to put Slackware on... those let you have more partitions than the MBR fits. Unlike MS-DOS (some DOSes let you) and Windows, you can boot from a logical partition. You don't actually need a boot partition, using the root partition is fine. You might want to make a /home partition big enough for your stuff.... judging by the size of you disk though, you might not want to do that and rather have a root partition holding everything.

How much RAM do you have? You usually want to have at least 512MB of physical RAM and swap (DOS/Win term: virtual memory) combined. So if you have 256MB of RAM, make a 256 MB swap partition.
