| It wouldn't be as weird as if people eventually lived a theoretically infinite amount of time...although to do that, we'd probably have to transplant our consciousness into a robot or something... I think it would be cool to live a really long time though... |

| Lesse...if we're still using similar technologies between now and then...the database will be scrapped at least another three or four times, probably go through 100 or so more mods admins, probably have a lot of those get shot down or resign because they have greater life issues to attend to, and probably got a good couple hundred thousand or possibly even million users within that amount of time, if ROM hacking stays as true as it is now. There's quite a bit of leeway for interest and popularity within that amount of time, as a lot can change within just a few years, let alone 15. But in terms of backbone community, well...I'd hope we're still all here. Even if, by then, I'd be 35. |

| That is true...the board here is less than a year old, and it has a lot more members that it would have when the original board was this age...but we did have about 400 people from the old board register during the first week... How long would it take to fill up the space on the server? Or max out the ID numbers? |

On my board copy, it's a smallint. And smallint is anything between -2^15 (-32,768) and 2^15 - 1 (32,767). So we could hit that limit, but it would be easy to change smallint into something else.  |

| The board software I'm developing uses mediumints, and almost all numbers are unsigned (who needs negative ID's)? I'll probably end up changing a lot of the number sizes before I'm through, but they'll probably still be unsigned... I think the largest MYSQL integer type can go into the quadrillions, anyway...changing the type doesn't reset the auto increments, does it? |

| I'll be here, or banned. One or the other. It'll probably no longer be Acmlm's Board, perhaps due to a hostile takeover by Ziff, or Jesper accidentally deleting all traces of Acmlm's existence... At least a third of the current staff will get themselves temporarily or permanently banned by then... That's all I can think of. |
