The graphics were NOT crappy. The graphics were stunning and flowed wonderfully. You just dislike the style, and that's a matter of opinion.

And if you dislike the style, does that mean you dislike the graphical style of ALttP, Four Sword Adventures and Minish Cap?

Fyxe, consider the viewpoint of the games you compared. Minsh Cap, LttP, and (I think; don't know, though) Four Swords Adventures are all a top view, while Windwaker is more of an OoT-like viewpoint, though with an easily-adjustable camera.

The only thing that hurt my eyes in Windwaker was the almost-monocolor water, since it was everywhere. Aside from that, I liked the graphics style...

I still remember, one of the most phony EGM april fool's joke was in like 1999, when they still had that section for game peripherals. The fake one was one called "GameShortz", and I totally got fooled that first time!

Either way, although that's a good joke that they pulled, it's kinda obvious because Link looks a bit unproportional in that image. You can kind of tell they used shots from the new zelda game coming out.

Ya, but viewpoint is not really an issue when talking about graphical style. With Minish Cap and FSA they could of easily went for more 'realistic' style thanks to the amazing things you can do with sprites these days, but they still stuck with a style very much based on WW (which is based on ALttP).

Yes, but my point in bringing that up is that someone might like a graphics style in one viewpoint, yet dislike it in another. Very possible.

Wait a minute. GameShortz isn't real?

I really thought they had made one or two of them just for the EGM staff...

Actually, it looks quite good in 2D. Though I really don't see a lot of similarity between LttP and WW's style...

Indeed, although going so far as to say the graphics are 'crappy' is a bit much.

HH, you really don't see the similarity? Check out ALttP again, check out the soldiers running in the air before they fall down pits, check out Link's expression when he dashes into a wall or falls down a hole, check out the waves in the water and the bright crisp colours, and the bizarrely shaped trees with simplistic little patterns in on the trunks and leaves.

There's quite a few similairites once you really start looking at the graphical style of ALttP. Most people let it wash over them because they're so used to it.

EGM is really hurting Nintendo with this. I walked into one of the EB Games locations close to me, and the employee was telling people about the pre-order deal. Even the employees are believing it, and they are getting other people to trust it too.

Last year's EGM prank, Lord of the Rings Kart Racing, was a some-what funny joke. This, however, is no joke. It's just a really horrible thing to do to Nintendo.

Well, I don't expect the common gamer to understand the extent of which their stupid article's damages have reached.

In any case... I'm pretty sure Nintendo isn't on such good terms with EGM at the moment.

If it were real, LOTR Kart Racing probably would have sold well... Despite all ridiculousness. Hell, if they can make a Star Wars LEGO game...

How are they hurting Nintendo? Nintendo's sure to get more money from people preordering it. If anything, EGM will be the one to take the fall.

We've been getting people into the store asking for their "free game". Oh, how hard it is not to laugh in their faces.

It hasn't been announced yet. Wait for a solid release date first.

Ziff, it was not my intention to insult you... I just realize that not every person sees this the way those in the industry currently feel about it. I don't expect you to feel the way they do either, that's a pretty standard response that a lot of consumers have-- they don't care. It doesn't concern them; it was funny, even. However, I've been talking to a lot of people lately who disagree with EGM's haphazard deicision to print that. It will be a big let down to a lot of expectant gamers who still are expecting to walk in there at the begining of next month and pick up their game.

Kind of sucks too... To think of a really younger gamer, getting all excited about it and passionately looking forward to it, and being let down. Especially since some uninformed stores are spreading the news unknowingly, as I stated in one of my above posts. Sorry, but I just can't see what EGM did as being decent, in any sense.

How does it hurt Nintendo? If anything, it just hurts EGM since they're the ones who end up having to admit their guilt.

The Sheng Long trick was tremendous. They waited for MONTHS to reveal it because Capcom enjoyed the extra quarters going into the machines.

I still say the best part of the sheng Long trick was the fact that A. They printed a "spot the April Fool's Trick!" contest DIRECTLY BELOW IT, and B. Some Hong Kong magazine decided to flagrantly break copyright law and reprint the trick without permisssion, thinking it was real.

And I seem to remember them printing it in the very next issue, but perhaps I'm wrong about that.

No word yet, but they really don't need any promos to sell the game in question.

It was funny that two of the guys at work didn't know about the joke. One, I sorta figured that he didn't know, but the other, is always looking into game info, and when he came into work all happy about it one day, well, I just had to crush his hopes.
