I had the extreme pleasure of watching this movie last night.

Wow, just wow is all I can say. A war movie from a different perspective, one of a civillian, and a Jew no less in the ghetto of Warsaw.

It was just phenomenal. I haven't seen Schindler's List, but I can assume that it's righ up there.

Saw it in theatres and bought it for my parents on DVD a while ago. It's an excellent film, if not extremely grave in subject matter. The first encounter between the german officer and the pianist was amazing.

Absolutely.

I ended up looking the officer up after I watched it, and his diaries were published, but in German

I either need to learn German, or hope it get's translated

I saw this because my local library had the DVD and my dad and I wanted to watch something new. That was one powerful movie. My dad was crying through parts (although, he's not a man who's afraid to cry). Anyway, I plan to buy a copy of my own eventually, it really does give you a unique perspective of the war. Absolutely beautiful.

Never seen it but I've seen Schindler's List though. That was like two years ago though for a class. It's a pretty good movie even though I can't remember it.

I actually did not care for this film. It is excellent in the elements it has, but I found myself wondering when it would be over.
Schindler's List though, that movie is amazing. Everything about it, just great.
